British ice hockey is on it's anyway at the moment. Most of the teams in the elite league are struggling financially and those that started out playing in the big arenas have now either moved out (Manchester are now playing at a 4,000 capacity arena in Altrinham) or planning to move out (Sheffield are leaving the arena to play in Rotherham). Ice hockey teams can rarely make a 12,000 seat arena viable these days.

I remember going to watch the Storm at the MEN and they had just short of 20k there and were regularly averaging 10k at home games

It might limit it from hosting the likes of UFC and WWE for example, that fill the bigger arenas around the country.

Suppose that could be one of its appeals of being "different", its still meant to be filling 16k.

As it's basically a stand, what kind of view will you get from the top with it holding 14k? It won't be exactly close to the ground will it.
