It was interesting that McClennan publically said he was not part of the anticipated 1st team squad at the start of the season but had a change of approach (bought into the ethos or suchlike) and forced his way into contention.
Good on him for doing so but you have to ask why did it take him so long?

I noticed that also i guess it can be hard for young players sometimes to see the "bigger" picture when it comes to RL at elite level.
Mike has been good in the acadamy for a few seasons imo and i thought he'd step up sooner but maybe that was hindered for whatever the reasons by his unpleasent loan period at halifax. |
