| Paper over cracks time again. Everyones happy with the result but the best team lost. Our defence is shocking and the pack too lightweight. Boy do we miss Ellis.

How did the best team lose??
We scored 5 tries to 4 had as many clean breaks as them and as much possession!
It was a tough match and we came away with the win do you expect 50-0 every week??????
Yeh we made mistakes and got opened up but so did they and considering our pack played with a prop down for over a half i thought they gave their all and matched the wire pack.

| senior was tied up with no space, the reason being buderus has the outside backs running at space with quick accurate distribution, webb seemed to notice this and was at acting half more than diskin, think leeds might miss the over the hill money grabbing aussie hooker more than most anticipate.

I thought Diskin improved in the second half but he doesn't get us rolling forward the way Buderus does and we will miss him massively.

I think 'relieved' would be more apt.
No one can say it was a good performance and that winning hides the fact we were poor.
We did outscore them btw, it's not as if we won solely because of missed conversions.

What ''cracks''?
It's become a cliche to say it because of the sky commentators but this season for me has seen a sudden spurt in the evening up of the competition.
If sinfield misses that conversion hudds stay 2nd..........with 4 rounds to go.
Teams like hudds often start well then fall back into the pack pretty fast. But this season is different.
The only difference in the sky games this weekend has been that leeds and saints have had that winning instinct.
In fact leeds have relied very heavily on that this season as do saints at times (i find saints tend to be winning their games more comfortably than leeds), but you can only rely on it so long.
Sooner or later saints and leeds will be knocked from their perch and it really will be anyones league. Hell it could easily happen this season with the new play off format.
So what are those cracks?
Warrington stifled our play for large periods, we occasionally got the upper hand.
People are going to see less and less champaigne rugby and more and more close tense arm wrestles like we saw tonight.
So don't put it on leeds, ''what's wrong with leeds, papering over the cracks'' etc etc. Other teams are just getting better.
Get used to it.
We've had 3 titles in 5 years with 4 grand final appearences in that time. Our time will soon end.

| We are kirke and Bailey down at the moment they may not be the best in the world, but their two good squad players, tonight in the second half we were much better and deserved the win IMHO. Donald not just for his tries was very good. After last weeks defeat it was inportant we bounced back and thankfully we got the resulticon_smile.gif I know sinnys kicks were difficult but had he kick them we'd have one by 8. But m sure everyones agrees we need to improve and I'm sure we can

| Warringtons defence was solid. But in the first half i thought many alot of the plays we knocked on about 70% of them were ripped out without the ref seing them but on all accounts a good win.

| I will forgive both sides the awful handling as a LOT of rain fell today. The match was scrappy but no more so than last nights Wigan Saints game.
Donald was superb. His break changed the course of the game and it was superb skill to ground the ball for his 1st.
Our failure to stop Monaghan out of dummy half was criminal and the cause of all four Wire tries. Mclennan should have them working on marker defence for the next two weeks.
I notice Mclennan adopted a tactic I mentioned on here last week of using a centre on the bench as an interchange for a 2nd rower by moving Senior into the pack twice. Ratu looked very solid. Fairly impressed.
Hall looks lacking in confidence at the moment. Not sure why. Running into the collision very tentatively (notice those that slate Donald for this have NEVER ONCE slated Hall) and returning his kicks sideways!
A quick mention about Simon Worrall. The lad played very well but that is not why I mention him. I notice Mclennan managed to get him on this week nice and early and avoided leaving himself in the position he was last week of chasing the game late and needing his game-breakers on. However, When Warrington scored their last try and were down by two with a few minutes left Bluey brought him on which makes his comments about last Friday pretty ridiculous.
Thank goodness Sinfield found his kicking boots in the end. What nerves! We look ready for the break and there's still work to be done but everything is looking on course, no need for the negative comments by some on here.

If you think Leeds were the better team you are even more blinkered than I thought and thats saying something.
Leeds were shocking tonight, Warrington were garbage as well but better than Leeds in pretty much all areas.

We'd have still come away with a point and gone back up to 2nd. Fair point re the rest of your post though.

| Tonight’s game is exactly why I love Rugby League so much – right to the last kick of the game.
One a side note – a bit disappointed at the away support tonight, we were on the Western Terrace with more room than we’ve had in a long while.

| I think the Wolves tired in the second half which may have been due to playing 2 injured players short for the majority of the game, possibly affecting the result.

Do you think Brian McClennan looks at the message boards for coaching tactics? I think he used the same tactic against Hull KR two weeks ago
