| There were a couple of kids sing, trying not to burst out in laughter, similiar to when your mate farted during prayers on Sunday morning service and you tried not to laugh. I was impressed with the parents on how they dealt with them afterwards.
Other than that and the wind you could barely hear a pin drop. It was well observed.

| Impeccably observed from where I was in the Carnegie, my only comment(query) is whether people should remove all headwear as a further mark of respect.
Hearing the birdsong reinforced the poignancy of the moment.
Life goes on.
I hope the Walker family can gain some miniscule comfort from the compassion of the entire rugby league world.

Very well said and my feelings reflect what you have stated. I truly hope that the family of Rugby League will continue to support them through these very dark times.

| Thought the minute silence was incredible, really moving and, must admit, the whole thing bought a few tears to my eyes, just thinking about the whole thing and how it just can happen, brought life to prospective imo.
The Wakefield minute silence was more like 10 minutes silence around the ground, according to my friend, she said there was so many tears around the ground, and that it was the most moving thing that she has ever experienced, with speechs from his parents, footage of Leon on the big screen, and photgraphs, and the MC speaking about Leon also.
Such a fitting tribute to a great young lad, and wish all of leons family all the best, and all my condolances past over to them.

'"
I was in the car and had switched on the radio at ten to eight and wondered if they were having an early kickoff with the minutes silence early because the live commentary had absolutely no crowd noise in the background at all and the commentary team were just whispering, they mentioned that there had been a video shown and that the family were already on the pitch and how eerie the whole experience was, that was eight minutes before kickoff and not a noise could be heard until the teams took to the pitch to be greeted by just a quiet applause.
Absolutely commendable from the whole rugby league public and a defiant response to those who keep pressing for the ridiculous minutes applause when its not needed in a sport that already knows how to show respect properly.

Sounds like he was know as Liam as well as Leon.
As for the few idiots who were ignorant during the silence, don't let that deflect the true fans who were great during the silence.
As for the one at the Wakey game it started 10mins before the official one, very emotional night especialy when the interview was shown

You could hear that in the South Stand too .... Highlighting the point that apart from the couple of clowns mentioned, it was excellently observed.

| Although I live in Leeds, I follow the French rugby league scene, The Dragons and Toulouse. My friend from France was also over for the game. The fans can be proud of themselves for the dignity and silence, and the repsect shown for a young man taken well before he should have. All I can say is just keep the memory going ? You can all at Leeds be very proud of yourselves.
