Don't think they will do that - Will have problems with the GRASS not growing

I agree, could be painful to someone in the stand

You only get that at huge bowl lke stadiums, headingely will never be the size of Old Trafford of the like, so I doubt will suffer too much

| The fact that the North Stand development has been put on hold will probably dictate what the club will be doing, regardless of what the outcome of any vote is.
At the end of the day, corporate customers are the ones that pay the bills and it will be their needs that are taken into consideration above those of us that stand in steerage.

Thats the reason why the SS side is so bad for the 1st couple of months. The stand blocks the sun to the grass.

41401.jpg Son, if you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now quiet! They're about to announce the lottery numbers.:41401.jpg |

| I think it would seriously lose the atmosphere if there was no standing at all.
Firstly, you can't chant as loud sitting down (I personally felt a bit of a prat trying to belt out "Marching on..." whilst sat down!)
Then there's the whole problem of people behind you getting annoyed when you stand up, so you feel bad for them and try and stay sat down as much as possible for them, which then ruins your enjoyment of the game cos you're conscious as to them behind.
Then there's the whole "People need to get passed to the toilet/bar etc". Which grates enough on me as it is! Would drive me crackers if I had to stand up and squeeze in while the game was on!
Also, if they're spending millions on a new stand, surely it makes sense to increase the overall stadium capacity in doing it?? Which would mean retaining the existing SS capacity and adding seats AS WELL, and not instead of.

| Quote: Lord_Percy "There's no way it's the biggest in Europe. Some German football clubs have stands that can be all seater for European games, but are easily converted to standing for normal league games. Somewhere like Dortmund will have a far bigger terrace than us.
EDIT - Dortmunds terrace actually holds rl24,454rl'"
And what a match day atmosphere you get there as well. I went to Dortmund v Munching Flapjack a year or so ago. Rubbish match, great day out.

| Quote: Lord_Percy "To be honest, I reckon the club have already decided what the stand will look like, basically a clone of the Carnegie.
That's fine by me, as I quite fancy a seat in the new stand, but would also like it to keep its standing area.'"
I agree LP as long as there's a good amount of standing terrace then that ssound.

It was bad enough at Scumland last October, back and forth, back & forth, If it was not for the end result, well, what can you say, can not hold their water.

| Rugby is for fans not corporates. yes i go to the rugby to watch the game & but i also go to be with your friends stood shoulder to shoulder singing for the lads! it is things like seats that have killed football so why let it rewin our game. take wigan. i use to love going to central park on the terrace behind the goal but because of the the JJB & the seats i really dont like going to wigan!
IMO 100% terrace!

The season starts in October. Until then, don't panic!: |
|
| An all seater for me, as long as they design seats for adults rather than kids, which they didn't do at Elland Road
The benefits of all seaters is the Chavs have nowhere to hide, especially if they have season tickets.
