Completely agree. I bet McLelland can not believe his luck. All these injuries and he never got the chance to get the games he desperately needs.

It does seem a lot to lay out without evidence of his capabilities, who knows if there were conditions, why I pose the question. Even still I’m not sure where the wisdom of 2 years was.

Presumably we weren't the only people interested and a 2 year deal, possibly with conditions, was what was needed to seal the deal.

From a salary cap perspective it remains a decent gamble to have taken.

Austin linked with the NRL. He hasn't don't much over here at all. And he reminds me of that minging Lions tour.

I reckon if we're going to sign an NRL-reject type player I could handle that being for a couple of years whilst we try to identify and develop young talent coming through.

However if we want to build another dynasty we should be thinking longer-term. It just depends who is available and who will come but I hope we snag someone really good.
