I'm glad he said it to be honest. Naively helped motivate the Rhinos on the night. Showed himself to be a bit of a rookie that week did Shaun.

Indeed, before that I wasn't sure if we could beat them away.....but as soon as they started trying so desperately to get McGuire out of the game it showed how worried they were and I thought then we'd win.....the League Leaders (at home) shouldn't have been bothered what team we put out, they've been established as the most consistent and best team over the regular season, nothing should worry them......but it clearly did.

When I said "Maybe it needs to be said" it was in response to the above highlighted.

By my reckoning, this century Saints have won the most trophies with 12, Leeds with 8.
The trophies I've counted are the LL Shield, C Cup and GF x 13 seasons.

I was reffering to 6 SL wins since 2004 which is the trophy every club aspires to win now above all others.6 SL wins since 2004,5 in 6 seasons must take some beating.If you are going by the CC and the LLS,please don't leave out the WCC

How often are you going to shift the goalposts in order to claim the Rhinos as the greatest and standout SL team ever? From just the start of this century? Since the start of 2004?

I'd be generous and give Saints 19. They didn't win a hubcap or anything at all for their 2002 League Leaders campaign but just because their wasn't a title or trophy doesn't mean it shouldn't be counted.

Clearly then Leeds aren't technically the most successful team in the SL era but their 6 in 9 (and 5 in 6) run of wins in the Grand Final has arguably made them the most significant team of the SL era. And I'm not one of those to dismiss the CC, I would've loved for Leeds to have won a few, but at the same time it clearly isn't the biggest prize on offer.....that is the GF easily and Leeds have gone on a streak that may not be beaten for a very long time, if at all.

Also a key part of the story is still to be written with what happens in the future and how long will they keep going and if when the 'core' is gone how will the club fair? Whilst nothing will take away the likes of 3 GF's in 5 years for Bradford (also a great run of success) that the club fell from grace so quickly does dampen successes like those slightly when you look back now.

So how many trophies do you Leeds fans think you have won in the SL era, or this century for that matter?

They've won the most significant and standout ones during each and every era.
