Thought.....Hall.....poor,'"
We must watch different games. I thought he was superb. Couldn't be held, bumped the first tackler every time. Made excellent yards and got a tonne of work done. I'll be very interested in his metres. There was one clearing set that went through Hall BJB and Watkins and we were on the 50 metre line. Very impressed with all the threequarters.
I just don't get the attitude Leeds fans have towards Burrow. The ball he kicked las night was straight into the wingers hands. Straight into them. Yet this is a mis-kick that should have been directed elsewhere. Re-e-eally?
He made a couple of poor passes but was a danger every time he touched the ball, as he has been mostly since filling in for McGuire. There's no doubt our attack has been far more potent with him and his pace at 7.
He's a threat whenever he touches the ball which was very often last night.
He gets MOM awards but that is dismissed as Sky being idiots or whoever awards them at Leeds being idiots.
I suspect some posters made their mind up that Burrow had a bad game because they saw his forward pass from Sinfield's break and his inside pass be intercepted so that is that. A bit like posters decided someone had a great game because they scored a try. They were then a little embarrassed when they saw he got MOM.
One player who I thought was very poor (but nobody has mentioned) was Kylie. He got in the way of Sinfield's pass that would have led to a lovely break, ducked out of a run that made one of Burrow's passes look poor (no doubt picked up as a Burrow error by many) and generally seemed a bit lacking of his usual oomph in the collision.

| In games like last night Danny Mc Guire usually seemed to come up with the goods. Either making a break or supporting the man with the ball. I thought his absence would not affect us in the grand scheme of things, unless things change I looked to be proven wrong.
I just hope we are not jinxed this season, watching delaney come off injured I thought here we go again, then foster collides with the post. We seem off the pace at the moment, defending we look strong then we clock off and let in simple try's . Come play off time who knows what will happen, you would not bet against us nor would you put the family silver on us winning the thing again. It's going to be deadly fascinating at these games.

Well, yes.
Watching the try AGAIN, Hall stops his run dead when he figures out the kick is going barely any distance forward. It can be both a mis-hit kick and end up in the winger's bucket, and that's what it was. It depends how the winger alters his run.
No big deal, and nothing against Burrow there. Kickers hit imperfect kicks all the time. The problem was with it being directly cited as evidence of some sort of deliberate, practised, perfectly executed skill.

I did mention that Kylie was poor, along with Ablett, Kirke and Clarkson, but the conditions made it a really tough night for forwards especially those in their mid-30s, not that that stopped JP. Foster put some of his more experienced pack colleagues to shame with the effort he put in, though that might be what comes of playing for a place. He looks a good prospect.

No team practises a 6th tackle kick from the 20 yard line that's supposed to land 15 metres out with a world of work to do for a try to be scored. The kick was obviously supposed to land far closer to the goal-line but was a miskick plain and simple, well done to Hall and Peacock for making something of it.'"
You have no idea what Leeds or any other SL side practice and will say anything rather than give Burrow some credit. Hall didn't overrun the ball and rose to knock it back as he so often does. You kick it to where the winger has the best chance of catching or knocking it back.

A good kick would see the recipient catch it with momentum, Hall caught the ball standing still a good indication that kick was far from perfect.

You do have an unhealthy bias though when it comes to Hall and Burrow.
That said, I agree Hall did take the ball in a lot to aid his forwards work. I just felt in comparison to other backs on pitch, he looked an absolute cart horse. His defence was not much to write home about either. I don't agree he beat the first tackler every time, in fact I think the opposite he was put down easy. He also bombed a couple of clear try opportunities.
But you were correct on the work rate, so you are right to say wrong that he was poor.

It wasn't an anti coach dig, it was another reason to throw in the mix, and was actually aimed at players.

Neither have you, and yet somehow you know and have stated that "This was a well practised move with the kick" for it to land in heavy traffic on the opposition 15.

Not if the plan is to knock it back, a ploy that Hall has perfected. Hall ran forward got underneath it, timed his jump and knocked it back to the swift moving JP with Burrow in support. Sometimes you kick for the winger to catch and score and other times to knock back. The latter method has produced several recent tries. It must be wonderful to have your gift to know without doubt which type of kick is a miskick if any and which is a perfect kick.

Hall stops his run dead once he is in position the knock the ball back. Why is that wrong?
He has done the same in recent games. The kickers job is to place it where his winger has a good chance of getting under it before the opposition which need not be close to the line. The wingers job is to make sure he gets to the ball first.

The fact that Leeds have regularly kicked for Hall to knock back would rather indicate that is has been perfected on the training pitch.
