Continual chanting being "one Johnny Walker" for about 30 seconds?

| Quote: ROCHDALERHINO "The big issue for me in the Luke Burgess injury was that at 78 minutes and 38-6 down the game was dead, For the young kid to run 50 metres in the dying minutes of the game and put such a hit on an opposing player, accident or not, for me there was clear intent to do damage. Had he and the rest of the Tigers team played to a similar level for the previous 78 minutes (Chase & Ferris apart) or had the score been really close it may have warranted a hit like that, not that I'm saying Cas should have rolled over and accepted their fate but there was nothing to gain other than to put an opposing player in hospital plus the celebration was shocking.'"
So now a young player isn't allowed to show commitment for 80 minutes and put in a big hit? the excuses get worse
Seriously, what is agreeable about ANYTHING he put? if you think a kid trying to put a big hit in and show effort is disgraceful etc I'd suggest RL is too rough a sport for you to be watching, go watch Football if you think he was being too rough for your precious little mind.

Because its a morale booster to put a big hit in. At least shows you put some effort in.

Bingo.
The poor me attitude the Leeds fans have over this is quite amusing, they've made a big deal out of an accident and a kid showing some effort and commitment, he's only played a handful of games, of course he's going to want to make an impression, not to mention the big hit seems to be his "thing", the Burgess twins in the friendlies both got big hit by him, James Stosic did last year (and he went back further then he went forward Walker hit him that hard).

The most serious injury I’ve seen in recent times at Headingley was when Senior tacked Chev Walker and his bone was sticking through the side of his leg.
I suggest you watch the reaction of the South Stand that night.

You dont read what is written do you. review back a few posts. No one has condemned the hit or the accidental contact and we all accept the nature of the game involves the possibilty of serious injury... as we keep saying they are all big boys.
What is in question here was the mindset of the Cas players and the OTT celebrations afterwards in this particular instance.

The quote I highlighted was saying the hit was disgraceful and he was intentionally trying to harm Burgess, which is totally wrong, and you agree with.
There was NOTHING wrong with what he did after either, I've just watched it again, he bounces up and down fired up because he made a big hit and forced a knock on, look at him STOP as soon as he sees Burgess is seriously hurt, any player would react the same, and they do just watch next time a player puts in a big hit, you'll see them react in a similar way, Ryan Bailey does it every time too, so you can't complain about Walkers reaction when you applaud Bailey every time he does the same thing.

If you think that was over the top you need to watch more games pal
Nine times out of ten players react like that and the players didn't exactly carry it on after did they.

| The fact it was Chev made all the difference. Pryce and Eastmond weren't afforded such generous applause when they suffered injuries at Headingley. Some double-standards on display here IMHO. It's unfortunate for Luke but I don't think the kid has anything to beat himself up about. (Well maybe the dodgy 'Barnet').

| nice to see that most fans agree there was no intent to harm Burgess. And as previously said shows how tough Rugby (league) players are to take a photo of yourself just after having your brains scrambled. Good luck to Big Luke for a speedy recovery

| whats done is done and the main thing is that luke burgess recovers from a very serious injury.
one question id like to ask is if a england player puts in a hit on lets say paul gallen or billy slater in the tri nations which resulted in the player been ko`d would you still think it to be out of order ?
also the fact that it was the 78th minute and cas were beaten bares no relevence whats so ever,a game lasts for 80 minutes walker is a young man who has a career ahead of him and he will have wanted to make an impression and im sure he did,its not the first time walker has put in such hits he laid out james stosic in a pre season friendly last year and also did the same to george burgess in the academy semi final last year, adrian morley has made a career out of tackles with the shoulder charge and personally i dont see a problem with it has its within the rules of the game.

I am only going to repeat this one more time coz I am begining to think either our friends done t` lane are having a wind up or they are thick.
to answer your questions in order
If the player was KO`d has you put it or injured NO I WOULDNT
I have repeatedly stated nothing wrong with the hit or the accidental contact by Graham at all as you state this is all within the rules of the game.
Jumping about and celebrating when a fellow pro is badly injured isnt OK in my book what ever side they are on
