In terms of signings we can only spend up to the cap. It's not like teams are throwing transfer fees round and we're furiously selling off all our players. We could be up to the full cap, if we're not are there any players available? Certainly in the past we've not spent up to the cap but it was never because we were skint, it was always because GH was a tight sod. Why is that now different?

In terms of pre-season, I'm not sure what the pro and cons of a training camp abroad are, better weather allowing for certain types of training? I don't know. But in Mcdermotts season summary he said we were in for a long tough winter, so maybe they decided it was better to batten down the hatches at HQ and get stuck in to uninterrupted training? We didn't go on a camp abroad prior to 2006 either, skint then as well?

Let's not turn everything the club do now into a ''it's because we're skint'' narrative just because of nothing posts with no substance.

I believe that Maguire & subsequently Wane at Wigan have eschewed foreign jaunts in favour of boot camps in the wilds of the UK.
It doesn't seem to have done them any harm in terms of fitness, team building & conditioning.

In reality, a change is as good as a rest and its not as if we've never had a camp out in this country before either.

Announcing the Boxing Day game yesterday, GH was still building it up as the last game for the South Stand so must still think they'll be starting work between then and the start of the season.

3 mags/burrow/jjb/delaney to name just four. Thanks for the memories but we need to move on. No pace no creatvity and another boring non-event of a season looms. I speak with dozens of rhinos fans weekly and every one of them is thoroughly pi88ed off with lack of recruitment and the constant crap that GH spouts. Just waiting for best squad ever from him now!

If you think JJB is a has been then I would seriously question what you watched last year. Was one of if not the best, certainly in the pack.

And if your suggesting we should look at more than one year in terms of injury and form etc I'd suggest that theory doesn't work for McGuire, who was excellent in 2015 and then obviously dreadful this year.

Yes the squad needs changes, but IMO a whole squad overhaul would take us nowhere fast, it might work long term, a la Wire, but there will still be growing pains.

Does anyone know if any players have gone in for operations since end of season? In particular thinking of the ones who looked to be playing patched up like Ablett, Delaney, Cuthbertson and McGuire.
