| Word of caution on Tomkins. Now the Aussies and Kiwis have a bit of video on him he needs to find something different to his step off the left foot back to the right because he might find a big nasty antipodean forward waiting for him.

the non exsistant organisation at pivot, no option runners and people being clattered in posission is embarrasing to watch. All off the cuff stuff which doesn't cut it

Pack standing up, particularly in defence.
Roby poor - appeas rushed and error prone.
Backs just not up to this standard of rugby league.
Tompkins flat footed and has no one offering him any options.
Smith and Shenton garbage.
Boys against men.
New Zealand will be a repeat of this.
Tompkins off, Eastmond on.'"
Psssst The game is over 80 minutes my friend.
Not the drubbing or loss of credibilty that some on here had hoped for.

Interesting comment in the piot match interviews..we dropped the "system" at half time and nilled them

| If England were better in the second half how much of that was down to the Australians having the game won in the first.
It was looking every bit as embarrassing as last year at the mid point.
Dave Woods needs a reality check if he thinks the Aussies took part after the break.
Chance one gone role on next week.

| Tony Smith should not be tempted to drop McGuire. Not his best game but he was horribly exposed in the first half without a second row defending in the right side channel.
I'd still have Smith either at FB or Wing. Tom Briscoe showed up like a kid with only a handful of games at SL level. One for the future maybe, but not yet.
I was unsure what Roby was doing still on the pitch for much of the second half with Sinfield playing 9 (and doing it rather well).

| Sinfield, Smith and Mcguire
lolol
Lets hope Smith sees sense and drops all 3. McGuires performance was probably the worst I have seen by an englishman in an international
How on earth you get an international gig when you cant even pass to your right ala, McGuire and Sinfield is beyond me

And had England had a bit of luck and posted another score with 7 or 8 minutes left then would they have just "switched back on"?
England got on the front foot from word go second half and the Australians demonstrated how difficult it is to make yards out of your 22 and get a good kick in (just like England found it in the first half).
The Aussies got the bounce of every ball in the first half - yes they have the personell to take advantage, but that did flatter their lead.

You have proven yourself a fool so many times, yet still you have more to give. Commendable effort.

Perhaps if they felt they needed to they would have.
Thurston's sin-binning by Ganson came out of the wide blue yonder. How was that deserving of a binning, it wasn't even deserving of a penalty given the way the game had been refereed to that point.
Does Ganson have an issue with Thurston?

Are you suggesting Ganson was showing "bias"?
I think Thurston was making the age old mistake of winding Ganson up by continually gobbing off - either to him in back play. Hardly surprising that Steve got the card out really was it? An accumulation of several incidents and then Thurston decides to slow down play near the Aussie line.
Yellow.
