| Maybe it’s time to get a bit humble. Leeds is a great club but it isn’t the only great club. We simply do not have the pick of any coach (or player) in the game, which I think some posters forget.
If Richard Agar is the best available candidate for what we need next year, and this appointment may not be longer than that in practice, then fine. Let’s get behind the team and give it a chance.
We could have the love child of Tony Smith and Craig Bellamy coaching us and we’re still not going to win anything without some better players for me.

Dont think anyone thinks we can just pick any coach in the game and theyd come, they just think we could pick a better coach than Agar, theres a massive middle ground between the two...Thinking we can do better than Agar is different to thinking we can have anyone we want.
Not important now though, he's getting the job, we'l get behind him and hope he does well.

| Well yes then who? Watson and Ward have done great jobs this year, but does that really translate to Leeds?
The Aussies are either assistants with no head experience, already well settled, or have some kind of cloud over them.
Powell ruled himself out and I feel he was the main hope at one stage.

And out of the challenge cup to Bradford.

I don’t put much weight in this kind of analysis, you need to compare over full seasons, otherwise the fixtures missing come into play.
IMO, we were crap before he took the reins, and we still are now. I just don’t see that changing next season with him in charge, so it’s a year wasted.

He's not had a full season just over half so that's all you can judge on.I think he's done well considering well considering how poor the squad is.

Moreover he's not had a pre-season. It would be insane to judge him solely on what's happened after he picked up Furner's sh*tstorm.

| I genuinely don’t know this so it’s not a leading question but what was our points difference when Furner left to where it is now?
In my opinion there’s no way we would have defended 7 sets on our line like in Friday without conceding during Furners reign

| I think the team has shown improvement since agar came in. I also think that improvement would continue somewhat into next season where we could move into a playoff place.
However, it's a 'safe' option. I don't think it's showing the ambition that a club with the resources that we have should be showing. Yes, the squad has done challenges, bit a good coach sound still be able to get the best out of them

Two ex Aussie assistants are the top 2 in superleague at the min. If we put friendship aside and had a look, theres plenty out there. Watson, best young british coach at the min, team plays some lovely stuff...Would that translate to leeds, we wont find out now...Will Agars history of failure translate to success at Leeds?? Lets hope so

| The only two assistants I’d be interested in are Demetriou and Ryles.
Who’s to say we haven’t sounded out options like this?
It’s no guarantee that an NRL assistant will work either. Furner just happened.
If people can’t see some improvement under Agar it’s because they don’t want to. Are there better coaches out there? Yes. Can we get them to the club now? Maybe not.
We are highly unlikely to bridge the gap between us and top next season are we? We’re looking for improvement and foundations. The squad probably needs another season at least to reshape, given the huge turnover of staff required since KS inherited the mess.

| Same old cliches....Lets not appoint this guy or that guy because theres no guarantees...So best just appoint the easy option with the history of poor performance, great attitude!
Gonna take this long or that long to get a decent team together 2021, 2021, rebuild, rebuild...While Salfords team of castoffs cruise into the playoffs, playing some lovely stuff.
