Why would Farah who earns close to $1m or Clark who will be on double the salary Leeds would offer come to us???

Segayaro will be on a tidy sum, is only 25 and will have other NRL teams interested in him so again i cant see any of these being our number 9 next yr.

Lets be honest now the only way an NRL player would come over now is if no other NRL shows any interest in them. There salary cap is on the verge of increasing in NRL again soon too.

Clark signed a 4 yr deal with Wire 2 years ago. Not even halfway thru his deal.

Why would Clark .....or anyone half decent..... now want to join Leeds? A team languishing at the bottom of SL with a real threat of championship football next year....would you?

The time to secure good signings would have been after a treble winning season.

The longer the club's plight continues the less and less likely we have of securing good signings for 2018 never mind 2017.

Players will still want to come to Leeds. One of the biggest clubs, one of the biggest fan support and not this year but has more potential than most for trophies in the future.

Money would also be a reason for some.

Can't see someone like Clark wanting to come. He is already at a big club already on decent money and chances of winning trophies.
Someone like Gale might. Leeds lad. And no disrespect to cas but the only real chance he has of winning anything other than the cup is away from cas

Wish I had your confidence of this "potential"....Not much sign of this "potential" for what could be a very very long time.

As for "money" ...since when have Leeds offered the big bucks? The whole Leeds brand of success has been built this last 12 years on disciplined salary structure and a lack of prima donna big money signings. Or are you advocating a return to the Leeds circa 80's/90's days? icon_wink.gif

Would Clarke really be on that much at Warrington? Baring in mind was he not signed the year before he won the Man of steel as cas needed the money, but didn't leave until the year after.

I guess Farah must be a good player - current NSW hooker an all - but he's not been a standout whenever I've seen him play, which isn't that often to be fair.

Non starter considering the coin he'd demand in SL.

He may be a bit blah by comparison but I'd rather get Ballin from the Tigers. He was part of a winning culture at Manly for years, and would be more likely to bring the right attitude if nothing else.

The same reason Kevin Locke went Salford, Gareth Ellis went to Hull, Terry Campese went to KR, Charley Runciman went to Widnes and ironically Ryan Brierley to Hudds.

Like I said anyone decent....Kevin Locke and Gareth Ellis are widely reported to have moved for 'mega books' .. Leeds up until the end of 2015 had a policy contrary to this and it is widely accepted that has contributed to the long unparralled team building success.

Once Leeds join the ranks of desperately trying to attract players with relative mega books (will it even be possible under the salary cap) as opposed to the better opportunities of being part of a trophy winning team (already there ) we can say goodbye to the winning team ethos of yesterday and see a similarity to the disjointed, fractious Leeds of the 1980's icon_biggrin.gif

The present sick man of SL would be lucky to attract such crap as Campese, Runciman and Brierley with the relative mega books.
