Which category did Kylie Leuluai or Ali Lauitiiti fall into?'"
Exactly 1yr was stretching it but 2 is a complete waste of a quota spot , also this wont codt much BS is a myth he'll be on a 1st Team contract & imo we should be spending that on better.

I’d have been much happier because Joel is bigger and better than Bodene.

| To give a squad player , take up an overseas spot and give him a 2 year deal makes no sense in my opinion . We already have enough squad players who can`t break a tackle - Mellor , Martin , Cam Smith, Sutcliffe - we don`t need another one . We need a back rower who can bust tackles and offload and give our half backs and full back someone to follow - although I don`t like him ,Farrell at Wigan is the type of player we need , as well as a replacement for Robert Lui.

| If he didn't take up a quota spot it would be an ok signing. On paper though it's poor. I agree we have a lot of hard workers and not many people who have impact.
I guess the thing is that these days RL is 95% hard work, and impact is far less prevalent. The game is all about graft these days, and is worse for it in my opinion. But in those circumstances, you need a lot of grafters from 1-13. A maverick who pounds something off 1 in 4 times, and names a mistake the other 3 have no place in the game these days. Look at the criticism of Koni, who is probably our main impact player.
Finally, I think we can't over play the squad culture element to it. If he's popular with the players and bits into the culture, then that is bigger than whether he's a superstar. We've had superstars over before, and very few of the worked out.
Still, it doesn't feel like a player will change much for us next season

| Agree with much that. I actually think he’s been very decent for us since joining and don’t forget it’s never ever easy joining mid season in the most normal of seasons let alone this one. I think he’ll be better for us next year and to be honest if it allows us to strengthen the back row and not take much cap space I’m fine with that. Also I don’t really want 2 more big name overseas players, just one will do. I’d like us to strengthen other positions from UK qualified players which will be better for the long term.

| We're still signing players who the club feel will be professional role models for the youngsters coming through, who are the REAL target for the future of the club over the next few years.
There's some sense in that. I still rate about three of our young back rowers coming through as having international potential - there is some super talent there, but it needs developing.

| I reckon at times we massively over state the 'model professional' angle. Everyone tries to avoid poor professionals I dont think our attitude will be massively different from any other club.

You maybe right, time will tell, one bad injury can effectively finish players at that age.
I’m not knocking Bodene, think he has really got stuck in and is a good bloke to have around, my view is Joel T will carry much more threat on attack.
Both semi finals emphasised how far Wigan and Saints are ahead of us in general.
