Don't disagree, I certainly don't see them all coming in at once, but this just underlines the size of recruitment task in front of us, and how many years it could take.

GH needs to say something to the fans about it or his credibility will start to come under question. It wouldn't be too much for him to say we should have recruited better than we have done over the last few years and we are working to rectify this.

With the benefit of hindsight lack of recruitment for last year has played a major part in how bad we've been this year. The club bought into the excuse-athon for 2016, and last year we won a very weak SL which hid how poor we'd become. Part of the problem (and this is common when 'great' teams fall apart) is overrating the ability and roles of bit part players. Ablett, JJB, Delaney etc were never world beaters, and we've just kept them around too long.

The decline in quality is really stark if you watch the 2012, 2015 and 2017 GFs back to back (or just 2015 and 2017).

Longer than that. It’s not hindsight. Look at the comments now about difficult to change too many at once. Hence why it should have been done over a longer period, and whilst we were in a position of strength.
