| Danny Maggs is too inexperienced at this point for the Leeds job. I actually think Ryan Carr is too but hes got a better CV than Danny has.
Agar is 100% the right man for DoR but is best option to carry on coaching until right guy pops up if thats the way we are going. Which we clearly are.

| We should be very wary of appointing someone like Danny McGuire just because of who he is. I'd expect to see a significant and proven role as a head coach elsewhere before being given the top job at Leeds.
Appointing favourite ex players with slight experience is the trap Leeds Utd fell into in the 80s and we've sort of fallen for it already with Furner getting the job despite an unimpressive CV.

| Danny Mags as understudy to Tony Smith for 2 years before taking the reins himself would be a good way forwards. TS is an incredible coach, and Danny is already learning from him.
I’d see that combo as a good way forward and we would play attractive rugby. After the 2 year apprenticeship Danny would need a solid team behind him, but it certainly worth considering.

| Tony Smith would be interesting, certainly seems to be an emphasis on people we know and had success with before with some of our recent appointments, think he's got another year on his KR contract, good friends with Agar and Bastian, club needing a group of quality youngsters brought through.....On paper, it makes some sense.
How would people feel about Smith for 2023?

| I think he'd get us playing some stunning rugby. Do I think he'd lead us to grand final success? No. Which would ultimately boil down to an unsuccessful tenure.

| Tony Smith asked Leeds for the job before Agar was appointed. He really wanted to come back to work with Sinfield but Kevin had already offered it to Agar.
At that time tho TS was only in a kind of temporary role at KR
I doubt he would leave KR now he has built his team there.
Maggsy needs head coach experience before becoming Leeds coach. Its crazy to suggest otherwise.

| Has McGuire shown skill in coaching, or is he getting linked by fans because he used to play here? Things like "knowing the club" and other unmeasurable nonsense have no relation to coaching ability. This always seems to happen in football and it's so played out. Sentimental appointments never work in the long-term, coaching ability does.

| The real trick, I think, is finding the new Tony Smith. A young, ambitious coach with fresh ideas about the game. Not sure if Ryan Carr is that man, but he does seem to fit the profile.

| From what I have heard McGuire has really impressed at KR and is a natural. Obviously he has no head coach experience which possibly would count against him. However every head coach has to start somewhere.
I do think there have been some really good gambles in recent years on Australian assistant head coaches and that is why Carr would probably have an advantage.
I am sure the club will have an idea of of who they want. It might be a case of when he might be available.

No mate but know Kev, who told me. He met with TS who was only person he met with but within a week of sacking Furner Agar was his choice. TS rang very late in the process.
I doubt TS would leave KR now tho.

| Ryan Carr seems a very able young coach but Leeds is a big job for anyone. Maggsy not for me at this time.

| Ryan Carr, I think if I had a few more years of experience coaching the top division team would be a great opportunity to look at but has only managed Fev and been some form of assistant at West Tigers.
I'd have my eyes on Paul Anderson.

Not for me - there is a reason why he applies for every job out there and never gets one. Would be a good head of youth development
