I know where he/she's coming from. You get used to champagne rugby and unprecedented success every year. You then just can't accept us being pretty average and are looking for quick fixes, and return to glory days. You can get very negative and bitter. Happened to me. I stepped back and see things in whole diferrent light now....

Constantly comparing this team with the greatest team weve ever had in our 120+ year history how crazy or fair is that? Newman is rubbish cos hes not Keith Senior, i mean come on.Think a lot of our fans are same tho, we got spoiled for years and many cant accept it couldnt last forever.
I just dont get why anyone would watch something they moan about every week. Find something else to do with your leisure time. But i suppose its his/her choice.

Yeah spot on. This is our leisure time at end of day, and it's supposed to be something we enjoy. But as I said when your stuck In a rut and can't get yourself out of the negative mindset it's pretty tough. We just need to support and encourage our fellow posters. I was pretty sarcastic and bit disrespectful to some fans on here yesterday too about their unrealistic expectations. Did it make me feel good? No not really, but hard to stop some bad habits, and the virtual world amplifies all our bad qualities I guess.....

The thing about Doc is tho is that he responds by saying he would rather be that way than the likes of some who are positive but I dont think there is any poster on here that thinks we are where we need to be. Christopher is the most positive on here i think but he says we need to get better and rightly so. I feel same way, so does Jimbo and you do too.
Doc is just knocking the club for everything tho. Winning the cup wasnt good enough for him cos it was only Salford we beat. Not sure club can choose who makes it thru to Wembley with them lol.
Of course Doc is entitled to post what he likes but jeez there has to be some understanding and accepting of where the club is at and that the golden era has past. There are some real positives at the club but we arent at the level of Saints, Wigan etc but were closer than people think we are. We challenged both recently with very weak teams.
If i was as unhappy with the players and the club as he is i would stop watching. I really would. He doesnt like the atmosphere when we can go watch anyway so why go. I bet hes got a ticket for one of the 2 games but that could go to someone who wants to support the team rather than moan about everything and harp on about it was much better in the old days.

Just on this, I am quite a positive poster on here and I do get ‘annoyed’ maybe not annoyed but frustrated to read endless moaning and criticism but only when its of s hyperbolic and non pragmatic nature.
I could probably guarantee i get as upset with performances as much as anyone on here, and get annoyed at poor performances but I like to think that I can be pragmatic about them. At the end of the day supporting this team is my past time, mu outlet from the rest of the stuff going in in my life. I’ve openly admitted that not having that couple of hours a week going to the games during lockdown has actually been one of the hardest things to deal with during the pandemic for me. This is why I’m baffled how some people seem to spend their time on something that ‘appears’ to make them so miserable - I’m sure that’s not actually the case, forums like this are generally exaggerations of real people’s opinions but still some of the bile directed at the club and players I personally think is way over the top, which is why I call it out sometimes.
I often get accused of being a clapping seal or some other pejorative, which is fine I am quite a self aware person, but I think what annoys me most about this forum is the lack of proper discussion as it can tend to just go down a mud slinging route, theres no discussion to be had with people who just think the whole team/coaches and club in general is crap, I’m sure they don’t actually think that but if they do, why bother?
Is the team where I would like it to be at the moment? No, however Im a realist snd can see how much progress we have made in the last 2 years and the one thing I am really pleased and proud (maybe that’s a strong word) of is the teams effort and seemingly the will to work for each other and the coach which is not an easy thing to instill, if they looked like they didn’t care I would be as critical as anyone on here.

| Yeah well said both Marty and Christopher.
Belittling the CC Win last year annoys the hell out of me. Salford were a bloody good team last year, and played really well in that game. Every other team is always desperate for a CC win. We were also given no chance vs Wigan in semi. We absolutely nailed that game. It was a coaching masterpiece. Yet Agar and players are still getting some serious stick as you say.
Agree not on.........

Its a nonesense argument, if the CC was so easy to win and we were such a poor team how come someone else didn’t win it?

| I feel a bit sorry for Chris Chester, he comes across as a good bloke and he's been doing a battling job at Wakefield there for a long time. Cas and Wakey are both real traditional RL clubs right back from their mining heritage and I quite like that about them.
However sympathy goes out the window tonight because I think this is our time to turn things around at Leeds. We are still underdone even with some bodies back but I just feel we needed that CC week off and I expect us to be difficult to beat tonight. Johnstone missing for Wakefield is a big miss for them because he's caused us problems every time we've played them over the last season or two.
Getting big T and Myler back next week will be another boost. Although if Broadbent goes well it'll be interesting to see where Myler slots back in. Looking forward to this one.

It is good to place the game/club in context - it is purely a form of entertainment - it will not impact your day to day life anymore than that.
When the club does well it should be applauded - the ground is one of the finest RL venues anywhere in the country, the CC win etc. The failing should equally be discussed and not swept under the carpet or excused. Everyone at the club is working their socks off to be successful - the question for me is simple in the words of Jim Collins in Good to Great - "do we have the right people sat on the bus? if so are they sat in the right seat"?

Id argue the ground (including the cricket side) is one of the finest sporting venues in the country - it would have been very very easy for the club to just pick a site and build an identikit stadium somewhere but how they have transformed the stadium and kept the history has to be applauded, having said that it is only fair to point out that I think the development might have impacted on field things and we were in a right mess, that is why Ive got nothing but admiration for the way the club has transformed itself within less than a 2 year period, its is pretty much exactly 2 years since we got dumped out of the CC by Bradford, I think even the biggest critic of the club would say that we are in a much better position now than then.
The rebuild was always going to be tricky and take time, Sinfield mentioned 3 years when he took over, bearing in mind we've had a pandemic to deal with I think they are doing a good job. That's not to say I think were where we need to be, but I don't think the club think we are either, but what they have done is installed the culture back into the club, which n itself must be a very difficult task with the recent history of the Golden Generation looking over them. I don't know much about Soccer but wasn't there a similar situation with Manchester United and they haven't recovered from that yet and its much more time than we have had.

Plenty of positives id agree but it's not just about the timescale Sinfield & co have made some right awful decisions wrt recruitment & retention thst's not a time issue that's just poor recruitment & retention.
Also wrt to Football that's irrellevant in all honesty we arent competing with Nillionaire owners of other Clubs we're more than on a level playing field & are still making avoidable mistakes.
