tries against in the last 6 games.
Players don't actually need to have superstar quality to be able to defend.
They do need to be coached.
Anything else we do on the pitch, or whichever team selection does it, is pretty much irrelevant until this is sorted.

Sinfield did warn us last year that this rebuild would not be a quick one! We are bloody lucky the league format has changed for this year

What has been annoying over the last two games is we have started well, stunk the place out for 20minutes giving us way too much to do in the second half, we only conceded one very lucky try in the second half but the game was gone in the first

As a Hull fan I would be looking at that great group of young kids you've got coming through in the next year or 2 and saying "Who do we want to be in charge of bringing them through"? It could be another golden generation for you guys, some great talent, but is Furner the right man to do that, supplemented by some more experienced players?

Said last week that its time players performance was reflected in team selection, didnt happen, worst second row pair in the league selected again, one even rewarded with the armband, worst scrum half in the league, starting again...If only we had a fantastic academy bursting at the seams with talent that we could call on.....Oh hang on. We only got the ten points we got because Furner was forced into starting Newman. I also said Cam Smith would, unfairly, be the one to suffer after last week, at Fev this week, he broke more tackles on that dissalowed try against wakey than Ferres and Suttcliffe have between them all season. Not impressed with Furners team selections one bit so far.

I might wait till after the London game because we really need to win it, but it really is getting to the point where younger players couldn't do any worse.

I think there may he a few of our squad sulking because of transfer activity etc - if so they need to be got away from the club ASAP.

If they're not sulking then they're not good enough.

In any event, its getting to the point where any changes are better than the same old every week.

Were perhaps missing Ward more than we think, wasn’t he our top tackler pryor to getting injured? And maybe its no coincidence that our defence has been very poor since he got injured at Saints.

Don’t have many positives from tonight, thought Peteru went OK and Newman didn’t look too out of place, thats about it

Pretty dire that. The pack is so soft in the middle and the halves. If Hunslet don't have better halves than us I will be gobsmacked. Absolutely dreadful.

There was some real positive signs after Salford and Saints but the last 2 games are a major step backwards.

Unfortunately Sir Kev needed to be more ruthless in the off season. Not only are we still employing but we offered new deals to Cutjbo, Ablett, JJB when they should have been told thanks for everything but your time with us is up.

The pack really is poor, we're so soft in the middle of the park which is then causing issues outside. Not one forward can break a tackle, most find it difficult to break sweat. Whenever Ward is out the pack is woeful and he's out most of the season every season.

I've seen McLelland play a few games now and I don't think he's ready for Super League especially behind that pack but my God he has to be better than Myler and Lolohea. Myler is stealing a wage and Lolohea will never ever be a stand off. The kicking game tonight was schoolboyish. Pathetic absolutely pathetic.

The team is leaderless out on the field and that is clear to everyone. That's not an easy thing to bring in so we have issues.

I have to say I thought the team was heading in the right direction 2 weeks ago but I'm doubting myself now.

Can we forget this idea that Sutcliffe can make it as a backrower? Only the coaching staff and management believe it anyway, not one fan believes it. It's crazy. Can Smith should be in and allow to make mistakes as the golden generation made them at his age and he will too.

It's a bad show at the moment folks but let's all stick behind the team as best we can. It's easy supporting a winning team it's during these periods when the team needs us. Dark days I'm afraid.

Probably yes. Our defence hasn’t been the same since Ablett, Delaney and JJB declined. They made everything watertight in the middle and covered gaps left by both the front row and centres. I think their roles in our successes have been underrated.

We don’t get anything like the same from Sutcliffe, Ferres and Donaldson. I think Ward can provide that level of cover and Ferres is doing his bit this year, but we’re missing another one that just tackles anything that moves ala Delaney. Of course we also had a better front row that meant the back row weren’t required to provide much go forward whereas they are now to assist the weaker front row and LF. Sutcliffe at SR is still a mystery to me. He doesn’t appear to have the size or heart to make it there. He seemed lightweight and contact-shy at centre never mind second row.

What are people’s thoughts on trying to turn Walker into a stand off? He has the pace and evasiveness to cause teams issues if he runs at them and Lolohea looked good attacking from fullback.

Walkers passing game isn’t good enough for Stand Off, he’s a good full back but he is still only very young so will have up snd down games, I don’t actually think our halves are our biggest problem, halves need a platform and they just aren’t getting it, Oledski is making progress and looks better this year but were lacking up front

I think the bottom line, as many have stated before, is that the players are simply not good enough, and many wouldn't make it into other SL teams. However, we all knew it would take time, and we need to bear with them until contracts start to expire at the end of the season and new, high quality players can be brought in. Blaming Furner won't achieve anything - I don't think any coach could make a silk purse out of this sow's ear.

[list[/listA forlorn Furner in the press conference. Also said 'there' 37 times which equates to around once every 13 seconds, as I assumed the rate increases with the level of pressure/disappointment. icon_biggrin.gif

Quote: Seth "Well at least the 2nd half was only 4-0. Other than that...'"

But it p@@@@@d it down for the second half Seth and we had Westy Ellis and Taylor resting for this period.

Quote: Rhinoshaund III "Stupid thing is. I was looking at the fantasy superleague stats today and alot of the Leeds players appear top 3, top 5 for their position in terms of points scored this season. Whatever it is, theyre just not working as a team.'"

But that is pure fantasy.
