Agree. That just makes it worse.

| Interesting to see how Warrington's "big name" (in SL terms) NRL halfbacks did sweet FA, managing to set up one entire try all game when it mattered.

Gidley was one of the better players imo too.

| Rocks or diamonds with Sandow.
Don't think he was 100% by any stretch but still.

| The biggest bonus of a Wigan victory is we were able to leave with 30 seconds left, run like hell to the tram stop, get into Piccadilly in good time & be back in Leeds for 9.30. The bloke throwing up all over the train 5 minutes before Leeds station capped it off. The Chinese students were sure intrigued.

I was surprised when Sandow came on instead of Clark that Smith put Patton to DH rather than Gidley.
Sandow lacked match & physical fitness.
Smith has previous in that regard, Keith Senior comes to mind.

| I too thought Wigan deserved to win. Their defence was too good and they dominated a poor Warrington pack and team that seemed to choke on the occasion. I also thought that Warrington got their tactics wrong and never really looked to go wide or vary things until Sandow came on and I thought although despite his lack of fitness he improved their attacking options. For me Gidley made too many wrong choices and he missed crucial tackles too.
The Warrington were awful and typical of the modern fixation of playing second row type power players who have little handling skills in the backs. Having said that the Wigan were not much better for the same reasons.
The loss of Westwood and Currie hurt Warrington but Smith yet again failed to get his team to deliver at the business end of the season.

| That must rank as the WORST Super League season in it's history.
Not withstanding Leeds being dreadful for 80% of the season - the rest of the teams were hardly showstopping and a pretty awful plodding Wigan side winning the trophy sums it up.
What needs to change...?
Has Super League lost its spark?
Does Super League need a new 'glamorous' sponsor?
The competition no longer attracts the 'quality' overseas players....

| It's certainly less entertaining than it used to be, or at least that is my opinion. The wrestle and awful ruck policing has cast a big stain on games over the last few years, Sorting that out could go a long way to making the product more watchable. Saving grace, i enjoyed the play off series and the MPG all four games were of good quality. intense and tight affairs as they should be but the regular season was a fair bit below par.
That said, maybe i have lost the spark a bit myself lately for my desire on watching the game. I mean, all the success we have had and being at the top of the tree you get to the point of what else is there to see or achieve? kinda feel like iv'e seen it all now and that desperation to be the best team has waned a bit. I'm not even all that angry about this seasons debacle as we have all the success that has gone by so fresh in the memory.

| In a really weird way, I actually quite enjoyed Watching how we coped with finishing so low this year, in fact i went to more ganes this year than I have for a few seasons, a bit like a reverse glory supporter!
I actually think we will be in the top 4 next year I think this year could turn out to have been a good learning curve.
Having said that the overall standard of SL this year has been well below par, the ruck has been a mess and to be honest Wigan have been pretty dire for most of the year which speaks volumes! Hopefully the mess around tge ruck and PTB will be looked at for next year
