Stats.'"
Stats don't tell you everything but the two things that jump out there are Cuthbertson sharing JP's workload in hit-ups and tackles, and Kylie's alarming missed tackle ratio.

Did you mean McGuire or were you asking about the South's coach?

| I'm guessing Achurch either didn't get many minutes or spent most of them hiding. 8 tackles and 4 carries? Positively Kirkesque.

| I'm a bit confused as to what some people here expect of individual players / the team as a whole when it comes to stats. If some players have the ball a ridiculous amount of times or make dozens and dozens tackles, then the natural contrast to this will be that others in the team will have had the ball a lot less often or made fewer tackles.
It seems to some degree that there is a feeling that ALL (or at least 'several') players should be achieving top metres / tackles / PTBs each game and that if their stats are not at the same levels as the 'top player(s)' in each category then their performance is derided.
For the 'less statistically significant' players to have got better stats, surely it would mean those with the 'best' stats would have to have a reduction in theirs?
Part of the reason the players with the best stats (with the ball) have the best stats is probably because they physically have the ball more than those with worse stats. Give the ball to those with the 'worst' stats more and you'd see their stats improve and the 'top performers' stats would decrease.
As I say, it seems fairly natural that some people will have better stats than others - there is only one ball played so to some degree how 'well' a player does is dependent on how often they have the ball (if attacking) or how often they are close to where the ball is being played when in defence.
RL is a game of two teams and the other team will also get the ball, so I don't see how it is possible for all players to have similar stats to each other during the course of a game.

Yep. you got it. I think they signed him as a long term replacement for Kirky. (Just like Kirk) the management team will season after season give him chances in the delusion that he could possibly be the next JP. Will never happen. Achurch should have gone along with Kirk.
If this upsets anyone, just think about the progress Achurch has made since he's been with us.

| Hampered by injuries otherwise I think he would have progressed a lot by now. Needs to be given more minutes IMO, but isn't in McD's 'inner circle of trust'

TBF Achurch was one of only a few to appear in all the pre-season games and he didn't exactly make a great claim for a shirt. I'd say he was lucky to get in ahead of Walters who is close to overtaking him in the queue IMO.

And the the real sad thing is Achurch will be one of our highest earners - When he left the Panthers, they were keen on keeping him, but in Phil Goulds words, Leeds made him a 'mega money' offer!!!
