My post. the one you quoted, was about the issue of players talking to the media immediately after the match.
What does that have to do with the pathetic excuse making the fans of the "mighty S" have been making these last few years?
Anyway, as Andy Gilder has said, Sunday's game and the policing of the ruck bore no resemblance to any Super League game I have seen this year or last.'"
Silverwood's rule interpretations on Sunday night certainly looked very similar to the ones I had the misfortune of seeing last year.
This years comp has been noticeably better in that regard, and a major reason (IMO), why Leeds were bemused with the wrestle-a-thon on Sunday night. It was inconsistent with the opening rounds of this season.
Whereas DD and I were pretty straight as to our disatisfaction last year - monotony being just about the best word to describe the slugfests on offer - you were amongst the most bullish in your assertions that this wasnt the case. It was all fine and dandy in Sooper-dooper-league.
Leeds were out-bullied by Melbourne and sudddenly the game should administer greater attention to the play the ball according to some. Its laughable.
As I said, the only argument, and a pretty strong one to be fair, is that Silverwood applied a hell of a lot more tolerance to holding down than the opening rounds thus far.

| As an FC fan I thought Silverwood was bordering on cheating in favour of the Storm. The amount of times he called "surrender" (therby giving the Storm the right to hold down for longer) when a Leeds player was tackled was ridiculous. He certainly didn't apply the same standards when the Storm players were being tackled. Still, you had the chances to win the game and unfortunately for you didn't take them which ultimately decided the result.

He had obviously advised BOTH teams that he would shout surrender and then Move and on the command move "Move" the player had to be able to play the ball.
You could argue that McGuire's try should not have stood as Delany who the ball came off was offside at the play the ball (Rules state that both feet of a player should be behind the try line, Delaney only had 1 foot behind the line) as such when the ball was kicked by him he was technically offside, no-one mentioned that one?
Silverwood was as good or as bad for both teams, it's over done and dusted the Storm have the cup. GET OVER IT!!!

LEEDS RHINOS - HISTORY MAKERS-2007, 2008 and 2009 Champions
[quote="TheOtherOne":7qqvi4ts]Leeds are still the best team in the competition so if we do have to play them I would hope it's at Knowsley Road with home advantage giving us a chance to knock them out. If somehow we end up playing them at Old Trafford I can only see one outcome

Are you going to answer the question then?
When was the last time your boys had the chance to be world champions?

Sarcasm if it went over your head, I replied to someone who referred to the last 3 WCC, 2 of which you have LOST, I was referring to the LOST bit with our c/c performance which we would raqther forget as quick as possible rather than boast about losing, read it again , it'll sink in eventually

Oh I see, let me offer my apologies, from which college do I get this fantastic qualification you all seem to possess?
Do I apply for the Rose tinted Rhinos specs qualification or the Teddy has left the cot cos we lost qualification?

Get over what? I'm a Hull FC fan you doughnut and actually wanted the Storm to win.
As for your point about the ref advising BOTH teams that he would shout surrender....WTF? He should only be shouting surrender if the ball carrier actually surrenders in the tackle, which the Leeds players clearly were not doing yet he still called it anyway, its odd that I dont really recall him calling dominant at any point. My point was that he rarely called surrender when a storm player was tackled yet seemed to do it at least once a set when Leeds had the ball which seemed to be his "excuse" for allowing the storm to hold down for far longer than is normally allowed.

To be honest it's harder to forget when you are the Champions of Super League. Wait till it's your turn.

So why ya still whinging about a ref then, I cannot believe people are still suprised by refs? Cas were screwed against Wire and Hull K.R., Giants were screwed against Bradford but still won.
We get a crap ref performance week in week out, if anyone seriously thinks Leeds were the best team then they really do have problems.
Silverwood is not gonna ref to SL rules or NRL rules as would be unfair, I felt he was same for both teams CRAP
Get over it, wether you from Hull, Wigan, Saints or the moon, the Storm won it fair and square
