I was pretty shocked to read this. Given he's hardly had any time on the pitch in match conditions he must be absolutely miles off the pace in training to have decided so early he's not going to make the grade. I guess we should be applauding his honesty and taking this decision because he'd be perfectly entitled to continue sitting in the stands and not making the grade for the next 2 years of his contract and it would have made a bit of a mockery of the club's judgement.

McLelland must be absolutely gutted with his injury situation. Desperately needed a (last?) opportunity to show the club he has a place here in what must surely be the make or break season for him
