Totally agree with you, cut out the brain farts i.e Sinfield kick that led to Charnley's try, the push in back by Bailey on Ratboy's Brother and the outcome would probably have been 2 points.
It's now time to regroup and kick on, and with a bit of luck along the away the championship will be Leeds bound again.

Only hope Leeds fan's don't go on about it for weeks on end like they did with the forward pass to Lima after the Cup Final a couple of year's ago.

| It was a clear no try decision. Did it affect the play? Probably not. Did he run behind his player stood I the line? Yes! I had no problem when the no try came up on the screen. I called it in play too and was hoping he'd get tackled.
ATEOTD I have no problem losing games like that. We were missing our 2 best forwards but everyone else stood up and made up for them. We fronted up, tackled like the game meant something, and showed that even after 2 poor weeks, we are still going to be tough to beat when it matters.
Wigan are a very good side but we are just as good and on another day the result would have been different.
We have a tough match at Hull this week but if we play like we did yesterday we will win by a couple of scores.
We have 13 games left and we are "as" 3rd. Compare this to the last 2 seasons and we are on a different planet.

I think Brian McDermott summed it up perfectly. "Whoever pressed the button understands the rules but probably doesn't understand the game."
Overall it was a great game to watch, which could have gone either way.

| I thought Leeds did better than Wigan despite not playing as well. Some Wigan tries came from poor errors from Leeds, although I suppose that's not too dissimilar to the play off game last year when Leeds' only try came from a Wigan error. You just play what's in front of you and hope you come out on top.
Neither team was at their best and neither team was full strength. Leeds were missing key forwards and I think those players would probably have tipped the balance in their favour down the middle. Wigan's forwards were gutsy and determined but weren't able to dominate.
Missing Blake Green was Wigan's big loss. His partnership with Farrell is worth about two tries per game. Sam Powell did very well, in fact I thought he was the best halfback out there, but at 20 years old he won't have the same ability as Green.
The decision to rule out McGuire's try was harsh, but those decisions are generally given at any other time so it had to be given even when a try is scored.
The game did show Wigan struggle to see out the game in a tough contest. In the playoffs last year we had the lead and then handed the opportunity to Leeds through poor game management. The same thing was happening last night with Wigan making errors and bad decisions when there were good opportunities.

| Those decisions are not given regularly as they do not effect anything hence the reason Silverwood did not give the penalty immediatley. Therefore if Leeds had not scored but had then gone over on the next tackle nothing would have been said .It happens week in week out , if no one is impeeded then the try should be given .And just from another point i have seen tries similar this season given by the video ref so do not come back with its the letter of the law argument.

Calm down
It was the correct call. The ones given earlier in the season were not.

| Agree with both sides tbh week after week we see incidents like this and worse imo go unpunished but like H says it was the right call which begs the question why is it not given EVERY WEEK and why no repurcussions??
At least we have a competent expert Refs controller to take the officuials forwar.....................Oh wait a minute oops!!!

| Quote: Juan Cornetto "Big effort from Leeds tonight and a good come back after a drop in form and losing key players to injuries. In my book we lost it rather than Wigan won it. Sinfield with his usually goal kicking would have won it. His first half last second gift try was typical of his off form timing at the moment but I can forgive that as he scored an important try himself. Whereas Bailey's contribution to the Wigan scoreline I find difficult to excuse.
Wigan seemed to get most of the 50/50 calls and I thought we looked well prepared and handled their much lauded attack very well. The two youngsters stood up well and must be allowed the odd mistake. JJB and Kylie were immense and I thought Clarkson did a lot of grafting. Vickery did all that was asked of him and Burrow made some good runs and McGuire showed that despite a loss of pace he still has the class.
Considering we were without our 2 best metre making forwards and top tacklers we did ok against their pack. In the end it was mistakes that cost us the game but I can live with that as we can put that right. And well done to Brian Mac for his preparation and motivation.'"
All credit to Leeds for their tack ticks in this match. Making us go much more down the middle and cancelling out a lot of our most effective and productive, wide play attack. Leeds was well up for this and treated it more like a cup semi than a league game. They showed how they can raise their game much more than most other side when they really want to. I think the lack of a really tough game in the lead-up to this one put us on the back foot a bit, but I think we did just shade the win (well I would wouldn’t I)

True, but it's still an illegal play. It's just the consistency of the officials that lets us down. As soon as he went behind the guy in the line and we made the break I was praying for a last ditch tackle on the line. It was a clear as day penalty IMHO.

Only problem I have is that if that is how it should be interpreted there should be no nee for the video ref. Referees should be well able to give that interpretation during the game.

| Crossing is crossing, it had no bearing on the play but if a player knocked on and regathered without affecting play it's still an offence.

| The problem with the ruling for me last night it that the ref actually says play on, therefore had moon or McGuire been tackled then Leeds scored on the next play that would have been ok, doesn't seem right to me that.
