Anyone got any thoughts on whether Holroyd could be in trouble for the "hand off" on Brierley? The still image of it looks horrendous.

I don't know - isn't a hand off supposed to be open-palmed, rather than using the opponent's face as a bowling ball?
Will be interested to see what/if the disciplinary make of it.

Doesn't look good does it, but don't think any action was taken by the disciplinary commitee. Our player James Bell has been banned for one game though.

It doesn't look good on the still, but in real time it was just a hand off. There was no Intent there, it's just one of those things. Whilst the game is being made safer, there are still going to be accidents like this

No intent by Holroyd. I suppose they might have gone down the route of calling it reckless though really that'd be entering the realms of pulling out any number of incidents resulting in injury. Just hope Brierley recovers quickly.

Theres some people with a right agenda on social media, using a still shot trying to make out its some sort of dirty cheap assault and demanding action.

That don't surprise, it being the modern way. Pant wetting about nothing incidents appeals to some folk more than anything else in life it seems.

TBH if a defender is responsible for any contact with the head and that is deemed to be a penalty, they should be allowed to expect the same protection. attackers often get away with handoffs above the shoulder, as well as leading with the elbow. This should be treated the same way whether you're a defender or attacker
