Credit to Wakefield they ran us into the ground. We as usual made life difficult for ourselves, turning ball over cheaply with stupid penalties and knock ons. Obviously Wakefield had the majority of first half possession, so we expended a lot of energy jjb highlighted by others was out on his feet. Not to replace him for a spell around the half hour mark was criminal.
Wakefield did nothing out of the ordinary just played with enthusiasm and tackled hard. As usual when we play poorly our play the ball becomes static. The player receiving the ball has no chance against an on rushing defence. A sub standard display and defeat next week will virtually finish off our old trafford chances. Over to you Brian.

Wakey played great last night, not particularly adventurous with the ball but discipline, set completion and all the basics were done excellently as you would expect. But what you clearly missed was the hunger and effort in the runs, the intensity in the tackle and winning 4(?) drop outs through driving your runner back over the line. You also missed the 1st class kicks that gave Leeds nightmares all evening and the different combinations that your men couldnt answer.

Yes you played poorly, but that was not an average display you lost to.

Anyway, dry your eyes - we had a shocker last week and thought it was season over and now we're feeling good about making the 4!

Considering they have already played Huddersfield and Leeds, I would be shocked if they won another game. Especially having seen them last night.

Can't see why they couldn't beat Salford and they play Wigan and Hull post Wembley so who knows what they'll serve up post Final especially the winner.

Its based on the fact we've already beaten Wigan, Saints, Leeds, Salford, Huddersfield and pushed Cas to within 1 point a few games ago.

You're dreaming if you think that Leeds team was unmotivated, they were just bullied, outmuscled and outenthused by a better Wakefield pack.

What I mean is, it looked as though we were in for a repeat of last year, putting the cue on the rack as soon as playoffs start and then we come back and put in a dominant display against a team we are competing for a place in the semis for.
