| Quote: tigertot "A game lacking creativity, save for Moon’s sublime skills to put Hall over. Stand out performances were Walker, who has done nothing but impress me from first seeing him; Mullally, who destroyed every vegan stereotype in one superb game; & Child, who was almost faultless, despite cramping up or pulling a calf muscle near the end.
I don’t get the praise for Lilley however, a very average C1 or C2 level SH.'"
Huh?!

The lack of a prominent skills coach around the club is baffling, has been for a while and it's easy to see why we just seem to rely on biff and barge and off the cuff individual play when we have a bunch of ex forwards on the coaching staff.

| I think most fans would agree McDermott has been very good at game plans for individual important games. What he seems incapable of doing is improving the skill set of players.
In Barry Eaton you have a very average Championship player providing the skills training with Plume carrying the balls. You will not get a serious skills coach until McDermott goes as this would highlight McDermott's insecurities.
Walker is a class youngster who needs to be in an environment that will help him develop - the game needs stars - and if Leeds can't offer that then for the good of the game he needs to move on.

Yeah would be great to see him tearing it up against us in couple of years time in a Wigan or Warrington jersey
That would be a disaster, in no way should we start becoming a feeder club for other SL teams, if he goes to the NRL i can accept it but no reason not to pull out the stops and keep him now.

| McGuire and Burrow would be excellent skill coaches and one or both should be put into the coaching set up to help bring the backs on.
McDermott can stick to coaching the forwards.
I`m sure Jack Walker looked up to McGuire as he was coming through the ranks.
What better way to have him as his personal coach and mentor?

No rumours about it, people know what kind of money Warrington throw around.

The same McDermott who both pre and post match was quick to praise Geoff Tovey's work with Lilley and how he's improved him? Yeah very insecure from the walking ego that is McDermott to highlight how another coach has improved one of his young players

But Toovey isn't employed at Leeds. Doesn't that back up what he just said? they have to go elsewhere to ehance their game.

| I like BM despite my sometimes having a go, when I think it's due.
however he does need to realise he needs specialists coached around him. we no longer have the sinfields who don't need it.
sadly I can't see it happening so we'll muddle on

No he was just trying to slate McDermott as insecure even though he's more than happy to heap the credit onto others.

Wouldn't actually be surprised if it did happen. Can't imagine a coach of Toovey's level wants to stay around the bottom of the Championship and who knows maybe part of the reason GH is happy to send some of our youngsters there. Also a top 4 finish for McDermott would be a respectable way to bounce back from last year and bow out and still could pick up one of two prizes.

| I don't know about internal coaching set up but at leeds walker can have a stable environment that will make him an international, give him a good living and he will win things. We have nearly a 20 year track record of these. Only wigan and saints can offer the same track record of ticking those boxes.

Agreed, i would be happy with that.
I think GH will stick with Mac though until the building works are completed in 2 years.
