| Quote: Mark Laurie "Big difference in kicking game quality and Leeds lost too much ball in the wet.
When the flat line off the cuff stuff does not work it looks awful. Too much lateral running as well.
Bit unlucky with some ref's calls.
Thought hudds were very motivated and compressed defence worked very well for them.
Personal view is Moon will be one of the Leeds halves for a few years to come. IMO his kicking games is better than some give him credit for and the bottom line is he is a better overall player than any other HB option Leeds have. I understand the view that he is not a traditional 6/7. I can't see Leeds signing a better player than him for next season'"
This was the big issue for me, only Garbutt was willing to run it hard up the guts no stop which is what it needed from the whole team the full 80 in those conditions to buy us field position. We rarely got it in the first half and look what happened when we did, Parcel scoots through untouched.
Huddersfield are a poor team on the ropes and we gifted them field position for a whole half almost willing them to gain confidence and with brough and his kicking game 'on' that was always asking for trouble. Personally i'm not going to start going over the top and pointing fingers at individuals after one awful performances as the team have already proved this year they can respond to a bad loss, but i'm still struggling to see a successful group of players here if we are talking silverware chances anyway but the hard facts are we sit in a far better position than the majority thought we would at this stage despite this setback.

If Mags try was allowed (which it would have been in a non televised game) we would have smashed them. We were not very good but it is not Mags fault, or Macs.
All 17 players let the team down. What did Kallum bring? or Galloway, or Bingo? etc etc. Kicking has never been one of Mags assets so why should it be now? We were beaten by the better team on the night aided by some dodgy ref calls, inc one of their tries.
We support them no matter what. If you don't like it then mickey off and support a team that wins every week. Good luck with that.....'"

Really don't know how a try like Roberts' can be awarded. Mamo pushes the ball out of his own players hands. Garbage call.
And FFS Phil Clarke, he needs taking off Leeds games. Even by his usually low standards on impartially he was bad last night. On a couple of our high kicks he was desperately pleading with officials to call us offside and letting out a yelp of excitement on one of Cuthbertson's knock ons in the 2nd half. It's embarrassing,

He's getting worse. It's so blatent this year, his dislike of Leeds. He's silent in the commentary box until he has an opportunity to slate Leeds. And it's not just last night, the entire season he's been like it. I know he's always been bad, but I do remember in the past him saying things like Watkins is the best player to watch in super league. And when we won the treble says we were the best team to watch. This year it's another level of dislike towards Leeds and it's painful to listen to.
I think Frosties asked him on Twitter st half time if parcel had a chance of MOS and he listed five hookers in super league he thinks are in better form.

It got to the point last night where the other commentators were making a joke about how impartial he is and he's laughing along seemingly not realising they're laughing at him not with him. It's seemingly become one of Sky 'things' during their commentary, let's joke about Phil struggling to remain impartial.
People can say Barrie has some Leeds bias going on but he complements all other teams nor pleads for calls to go against them or celebrates their errors.

Absolutely ridiculous call. It meant absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things of course, but had that been the match winning score then there would have been about 10 pages on this by now!
I like the VR but this reviewing a decision over and over and over..... like the Moon try which was obvious on first view yet they looked at it about 15 times! The problem probably lies in the way the ref sends the call upstairs but watching the NRL their VR's on the whole seem to get on with it far quicker than ours do.

| 2015 GF Clarke said leeds were the best team of the last 40 years. Very bias against leeds. More paranoid rubbish.

| Leeds lost because of Clarke and the ref !!
Personally I think Leeds lost and every game they have lost in the last 1]6 months is because Hetherington and McDermott have not replaced
Sinfield and peacock

Yeah after the final whistle of the last game of the season. When games are actually in progress he clearly is bias.

My judgement has come over a period of time and believe i made comment some time ago. A great athlete and runner of the ball he is but a fundamental skill of a half back is to fix and hold defences to create space and time and deliver passes accurately, hes never posessed that as a centre let alone a HB. He has always run overs lines taking the spsce of the players outside him but his balance and off load means it sometimes works, thats not to dismiss the obvious qualities he posesses, but against a team or game situation that requires breaking down, not a HB.

| Very poor display especially in the second half.
Having said that Huddersfield played with more desire and a will to win.
Brough as usual ran the show and proves what an ageing half back can do if you have the skill set to do it.
Unfortunately McGuire no longer has that skill.
Those who are saying we will struggle without Hall and Watkins could be right but from last night`s showing neither offered anything in attack.
Moon and Handley as their replacements might offer more maybe.
Personally I would go with Lilley and Moon at HB but that is not going to happen.
If Walker continues playing well maybe Golding to HB simply for his pace which Mags no longer has.
As for the bench last night what was that about?
We needed Burrow on well before the 70 minute mark and we needed to spell one or two of our forwards and Mullalley should have been brought on to do that.
Singleton for me does one or two good things then goes into hiding.
Hopefully a blip that will give us the kick up the backside we need.

First of all if people with different opinions to you make you want to start physically assaulting others I'd get yourself checked in; you're clearly a danger to society.
I would suggest a lack of direction and a diabolical kicking game is the fault of the half backs. Kicking should be one of McGuire's assets as he has been a professional RL player for over 15 years but he hasn't improved that area of his game in the slightest, Brough showed how important a decent kicking game is by dragging a poor Huddersfield team over the finishing line.
We were awful as a team last night but Delaney, Hall, Galloway, Garbutt, Parcell and Walker put the effort in and came out of that game with some credit.
I'm quite happy to keep having my own opinions on how we are playing and how to improve the team, if you don't like it then find a team where all the supporters are spoon fed what to think and say. Good luck with that.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

| On a positive I thought Walker looked real class - that is a player for the future.
If it were me I would play him at FB, Golding in the halves and Moon back to the centre - stick with it.

Are you saying top tackler JJB did not put the same effort in?
