Marquee is about how much of a players salary counts against the cap, not what you pay them. I believe the "cap" that's applied for Marquee is £150k. We could pay Koni more than that and not declare him as Marquee if we had 2 players with higher earnings so we would get more cap benefit.

Yeah well explained. my point being though, is Koni is unlikely to accept less than what he is on now. Been in SL dream team 2 years running. Not sure how people seem to think we can keep him on a lesser contract.......

According to salary cap regulations it is £150k and £75k for club trained.it doesn't mention overseas.

We don’t know the value of the contracts but I like Donaldson actually. He hits in D and is good for the younger players. Looks like he has put on some size over the last year.

Thompson needs to show up this season because he’s a quota spot; be interesting there.

Thompson does need t o show up but he's contracted until 2022.Quota players off contract are Hurrell Prior Martin and King.

Donaldson 100% deserves this deal. His attitude is first class and will be a great role mofel for fitness and professionalism for younger players. He will give 100% when he gets his chance but will also understand his position as a squad player when not selected. I would imagine his salary is at the lower end of the scale so in terms of return for investment hes great value for money. Yes he doesnt bust the line but hid defence is first class and he definitely lifts the overall intensity in defence when hes on the pitch
