I could state anywhere I wanted that I don't like Eskimos and not be prosecuted for anything. If I said I wouldn't give an Eskimo a job because he's an Eskimo or that I suggested other people joined me in a beating up an Eskimo day that very much would be a crime.

One is freedom of opinion and whether you find it vile or not, it's not a crime and never should be, The others are clearly prescribed criminal offences and rightly so because they go way beyond a particular personal prejudice and affect the safety and livelihood of the victims.

Eskimo is not widely regarded as a racist term by anyone except attention seekers and trouble makers. It's inaccurate that's all, it was used as a catch-all term when in fact it only applied to two main groups of Inuits or indigenous Candian people. If you are going to be a woke pedant at least do your homework.

I grew up in the seventies when racism really did exist, Terry would have been a liberal then. These people were nasty, they took lives, they hurt people, they were way more than a petulant temper tantrum by an over-privileged footballer and an equally petulant overreaction by another.
