Thank God for that, if this is to be a properly representative Hall of Fame you simply can't ignore people who would walk into the thing backwards if they'd played in the last 50 years. Just look at his stats, his international appearances, his length of service, the captain of the club's first major trophy winning side, he's such an easy choice.

The club cant trace any descendants. I wonder if the club are using the pandemic to induct deceased players who's relatives are not available? There are a few more from that era Frank Bucket Young and Dinny Campbell etc

Absolutely. His record is magnificent for the club. A true Hall of Famer.

| Superb inductee - played in an era when the forwards were really tough - IIRC didn't they form a scrum at every tackle? His records stands up against former Leeds player - to play a big part in an ashes test series win down under is some achievement.
This concept is a wonderful thing it just needs to induct players that truly deserve to be there on their achievements on the field.

| Quote Freddie Miller.="Freddie Miller."Am truly surprised Clues was not previously in the Leeds HOF. First saw him play in Hull in 1947 with Bert Cook also in the side. Would rate Clues as a great second row forward with real class on a par with fellow Aussie Harry Bath.
Also in that match playing for Hull was an Aus winger Bruce Ryan who came over just after Arthur. When Ryan first arrived by train in Hull a crowd of 4-5 thousand (me included) were there to meet him and he was one of my favourite ever players. I cried when he left to join Leeds for a world record fee in 1950.'"
Good on yer Freddie, can’t be many around who saw the likes of Clues, Bath and Ryan.

| Sad to see Les Dyl not looking too well these days. Great player, fully deserving of his place in the HoF.

| Clues was well before my time too but I did know Trevor Foster very well who played against Clues many times. Trevor rated Arthur as one of the best second rowers in the world in the 40s. He was a real character too.

| Quote Zoo Zoo Boom="Zoo Zoo Boom"McDermott was a pretty average player - more froth than substance. Neither Murray or Smith really rated him - how he could in before the likes of Mick Shoebottom shows how much he has sucked up to the boss.
Never played year 1 of Murray and Smith used him very sparingly - I think he played 15 mins of the 2004 GF and no minutes of 2005 CC final IIRC?'"
I do not agree with that first sentence whatsoever.

And Murray did rate him, and vice versa, Barrie was coming back from a serious leg break when Murray took over and struggling to find form hence was not first choice, but in 99 under Murray barrie was first choice and was sensational and arguably had his best year.

| Les Dyl
Only saw him at the back end of his days early 80’s and was already a bit past it, but some player in the 70’s by all accounts.
