| I think a major factor in being able to do the treble is when the Cup Final is held. If the Cup Final in 06 was in August then I'd say that Saints Team were the best as they lost fewer games. If not the 15 version would be the best given the format. Who you play in the final weeks of the season determines a lot IMO.

| To return to an old chestnut of mine, a few teams have done the treble, and it's tough. Only one team has done the WC/Super League double. And we've done it twice.
Anyway, obviously our treble was best, too. To win the last three matches against such tough opposition, after looking down and out following Wembley was amazing.

| I think our and Saints are greater achievements than the Bulls because of the timing of the CC.
I think ours is greater than Saints because
1. We did it off the back of the Super 8s
2. I'm a Leeds fan

If not for Terry Newton I think Saints would have won the GF comfortably that year IMHO.

The super 8's means ours is the best. For sure. Unless the CC cup is moved to earlier in the season it will be very hard for a team to replicate it.

| Ours was certainly the most dramatic. Those last three games were nerve shredding.

| Can someone with more time than me list the first 17 for each of the teams, would be fascinating to compare man for man...

| And to think that Bulls 2003 side won their playoff semi and Grand Final with Karl Pratt as starting Stand Off.

| The Bulls 2003 team was the most fearsome for Daryl Powell's Leeds. 5 defeats on the trot says it all. Although it did make 2004 all the sweeter.
The Saints team was good but has more obvious frailties - Gardner and Meli to name two.

| The Saints and Bulls teams must have been better than Leeds. They both won despite having Leon at stand off.

| The Bulls 03 and Saints 06 sides were like chalk and cheese in the way they played the game, so very difficult to compare.

You forget how good a career Lee Gilmour had. He also won a Grand Final with Wigan in 1998.

| I think it’s worth bearing in mind that the position of Super League in relation to the NRL has changed greatly in the last decade. Teams were generally able to keep hold of their top talent (e.g Long, Cunningham, Peacock, Sculthorpe, Fielden), who these days would go to the NRL/Union (e.g Burgess, Graham, Tomkins) and teams were able to bring over a better calibre of player (e.g Lyon, Barrett, Vainikolo, Richards) who wouldn’t really look at the Super League these days. As such I think the standard of teams at the top was a bit higher than it is currently.
I’ll go for the ’03 Bulls for that reason and the fact that there were four legitimate contenders to win trophies that year (Bradford, Leeds, Saints, Wigan) compared to three in ’06 (Bradford, Leeds, Saints) and ’15 (Leeds, Saints, Wigan). This Leeds side is undoubtedly a great side but I think the other two also pinch it on star factor. If you were to pick a 17 of super league players since its inception I’d argure there isn’t any Leeds player of ’15 who would get in, whereas the ’03 Bulls have Vainikolo, Fielden and Peacock and the ’06 Saints have Lyon, Long and Cunningham (the memory plays tricks so I can’t remember whether how good Sculthorpe, Roby and Graham were at that point).
