| 9 times out of 10 Hall scores.
Therefore no problem with him taking the decision he did.
Dixon's error in the same situation was far worse.
Hall still provided for me the champagne moment of the whole game with his hand off on Kelly that dumped him on his backside.

Not "probably" Hall should definitely have passed. He had a defender in front of him and two team mates close to him on his right in clear space with plenty of time to make a simple pass. So the odds were in favour of the pass. He took the wrong option despite his undoubted ability to break tackles and score tries.
You point about the risks of passing applies to every pass. If we didn't pass because of the risks we wouldn't have a game at all!
In junior rugby even had Hall scored the coach would have had a word with him about greed and it being a team game. At the top professional level the simple soft hands pass is what they do 100's of times each week in training.

It is difficult to criticise any individual in what was a fantastic team effort, but it is also difficult to argue with any of this. There was far less risk in this particular pass to very close supporting inside players than in going for glory (as was indeed proven). I like to think that (as with Hardaker against Warrington) if the score had been more critical then the player would have indeed made the relatively simple/safe pass. Either way in both cases it would have been 'unforgivable' if it indeed it had been a critical score.
As it is it wasn't so no real harm done.

| White line fever, can be contagious, I thought he should have scored. Probably the best defense by HKR all afternoon.
If it had been Wigan or saints in a close game, I suspect Ryan would have passed.

| It was a fantastic tackle , had that been Hardaker we would be praising it. You cant blame Hall for backing himself either.

| How much time did Hall have to make his decision, after picking up the loose ball on the run? Instinct that close to the line is just back yourself and go for it

As he should , Hall had every right to back himself . Twelve months ago he picked up Kirk Dixon and carted him and others over the try line singlehandedly , no reason to bag the bloke for one misjudgement .

Good odds. I checked on Twitter after and I think SkyBet were offering 33-1 for Leeds by 45-50.
Mind you, we bombed another chance when Hardaker dropped McGuire's pass.

| It was 16-0 at the time and a winger wanted to get in on the act, had it been 0-0 maybe he'd have passed.....he'll have know the game plan was to attack down our right hand side so chances will have been limited (can't remember him getting another chance near their line for the remainder of the match).

Hall had a split second to make the decision and make that play. Without the benefit of hindsight, I can easily imagine any winger throwing a stinker of a pass in the time he had available. And a panic play is just as basic an error as the one you describe.

| It was actually Dixon who made the initial tackle and even then Hall could've gotten the ball down as he came free from him but Salter got in and wrapped him up preventing him from putting the ball down.

Given it was a Hull KR knock on, it would have been a free play so even had the pass gone to ground, it would have still been Leeds feed at the scrum.

Yup, you're right. Had forgotten the knock on that gifted Hall possession.
