I know there's zero chance he'll play Saturday but is he cup tied for the semi and final if we were to make it through?'"
I suspect he won't be cup tied going forward if we progress, but the main reason he won't be playing against Hull, is he arrives the day after the game

| I still think there is another NRL player on his way, and would love it to be Widdop.

| Have we paid the Broncos for Garbutt and if so how much? They paid close to £350K for him at the end of last season, fighting off numerous other NRL clubs for his signature. Could be we've done a good bit of business on this one

| Excellent news. It looks like he was the planned replacement for Kylie next season which has now been brought forward. Obviously they have been talking for some time. So for next year we have Cuthbo as the offloading prop to replace JP then Singo and Mullally to replace Bailey & Kirke we now have Garbutt in for Kylie with the the youngsters vying for the previous Singo prop grooming slot.
I would like to see a real classy creative half back that can kick and another line breaking forward who could be a back rower.

I don't think the Broncos paid anything for him. The $700k (£350k) reported was for his salary over a three year contract, though I've also seen it reported as higher than that. The Broncos were willing to release him to Manly without a fee before Cherry-Evans backflipped and resigned for Manly meaning they had no cap left, so I don't see Leeds having to pay a transfer fee either. The salary will be expensive though.

| Having not seen him play yet its hard to say how good a piece of business this is, however the timing couldn't be much better and not only should it give us fans a bit of a lift but also our fatigued forward pack who have been stretched of late. Its certainly the position we needed to fill most too.

| Quote Jamie101="Jamie101"How can it be possible to be cup-tied in an English cup competition when you have been playing in Australia earlier in the season, or am I missing something..?'"
I thought there used to be a registration deadline for individual rounds of the Cup, but I'm not sure whether that is still the case?
Probably fair to assume that Leeds were operating £50-60k below the cap then, unless someone has been de-registered?

As I said, Garbutt's salary in Aus was £115k-£125k per year, so assuming we're matching it we'll have been a lot further under cap than that.

Sorry...rethinking we'd only be on the hook for half of that given it's for half the year.

| I was under the impression that we were well under cap so I'd imagine it has more to do with quota of players you're allowed on over 43K a year tbh
