| Quote RhinoNeil="RhinoNeil"Please let this be f***ing true. It will without doubt be the best thing to happen to Rugby League since I have been watching the game at least. The commentary has gone beyond cringe-worthy. It went past that years ago, now its just special, like we are doing our part for the community.'"

| They need more Wiganers on the commentary team. I never tire of that accent.

| If this is true (fingers crossed) Don't suppose there's any chance of Sky offering the gig to the guys who did the world cup? I remember them as refreshingly knowledgeable and professional at what they were doing. Not the current model used by Sky, but hey it could catch on.

| Its utterly bewildering how that have lasted this long. Just look at the comments on this thread and others you see every season. You go on twitter and you see current professional players taking the mickey out of them every single match. Just this week JP said Jim Watt (the boxing commentator who is also way over the hill) is boxings equivalent to Stevo. If there was a poll on the VT it would be 99% to get rid of them both. I sound bitter and harsh as they are good people but they are holding the game back, I'm certain sky viewing figures would be higher without these two..,which will have a direct impact on the sport as a whole.

| Wells calls it better than anyone on current format, so if you're promoting from within, he'd fill Stevos spot much more effectively.

| Wells should carry on doing what he's as he's very good at it. Noble isn't a bad shout to replace Stevo, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Carney should replace Clarke, and Hemmings should be replaced by someone from outside like Mark Chapman.

Agree with that. Although Chapman is heavily involved with all things BBC Sport, I doubt Skys RL budget would lure him away from that. Noble has been floating around the game since his Salford departure, Id like to see him on Sky and I bet he would welcome the secure income too..

| Can Mark Chapman manage the commentary side of things? I think he's a cracking presenter but we'd need someone as main commentator.
Would Dave Woods fancy it?

Again Dave Woods does other bits for the BBC, athletics for example. I cant see Sky having a big wage bill for the RL guys.

Plus, he's a Wigan fan. That appears to be a strong criterion for making Team Sky.

| They'll probably dig Paul "the computer' Cullen up again and pair him with "Capt. Suicidal" Tony Rae.
Personally, being serious, I think Carney will end up hosting it. With Eddie they have a rather unique situation where the match commentator sits in the studio and hosts the programme. I can't think of any other sport on TV where the match commentator does this. They will switch to a more standard format, Carney will host, Phil Clarke, Terry and Barry will provide inane jibber jabber in Wiganese and someone else will commentate on the match, maybe with a guest summariser in the box with them (hopefully Jon Wells or a guest coach). Bin Cummings completely, a total waste of time and oxygen. We already have 3 referees - one actually reffing the match and two in the video booth (do they still have two of them?), we don't need another one. Referees are like wrist watches, if you look at more than one then you can't ever get the right time.

| Why do they have so many people in the commentary box? Who thought it was a good idea?!
