It will be the end of an era, and very strange to be thinking of a Leeds team without him (and JP).

That said, I personally think the time is right, and I'm glad he has made the decision he has. I would have hated to see him go on for longer than he should, and it's already clear that he isn't anywhere near his own exceptionally high standards.

Time now for the club, the fans, and the city itself to find a way to celebrate his career, recognise his contribution and honour his legacy. He deserves the very best send off from us as a thank you for all the wonderful memories he has given us.

That is a shock and a shame for your club. What a player he has been for you over the years and you'll certainly miss him lots.

Well the one good thing is that he's not moving away and he's playing for Carnegie and will still be around Headingley and Kirkstall and as he says in the interview on the Rhinos site, if those young guys ever want to come to him for advice or anything he's still going to be nearby for that.

Sinfield and Peacock going together.....don't know what the final home game of the season will be but can see it being a monster attendance to see these two guys for the final time, maybe the first 20,000+ gate in the league since Bradford's glory days,

Does nobody else think this is a strange move?

Granted he will be on good money, and fair dos as he has no doubt passed on more lucrative opportunities to stay at Leeds over the years.

However, in 18 months he won't do much in union. His kicking isn't up to it at fly half, he isn't quick enough for the backs or big/skilled enough for the forwards.

He has earnt the right to do as he pleases in the twilight of his career but to me this will be a slow sad end to a wonderful career.

Hasn't he spent most of his career with the too slow not big enough argument? He hasn't done too bad considering!

Good luck from a Wakefield fan, been a credit to both the Leeds club and the game overall.

This is great for Liam Sutcliffe, but awful for the Rhinos. Him and JP leaving at the same time is going to make it a massive task to finish in the play-offs.

Be interesting to see who we try and bring in.Personally i would like to see Sutcliffe given the 6 shirt but with Sinfield and JP off the books at the same time would surely give us enough cash to go for a high profile forward which is what i would like to see us do.

This is the most worrying aspect for next year. Talk about transition!
