| I'll be very surprised if Dr Kashcow has any interest in Super League at all in 18 months from now.
He thinks he can pour a boat load of cash into any club and the trophy cabinet will automatically fill up. When he realises that all the dosh he's splashed will return zip, he'll take his gold plated bat & ball somewhere else.

| Quote John Gilbert Reds="John Gilbert Reds"Depends which way you look at it, I see Marwan as coming to the table with ideas (which others aren’t I might add) which see’s Super League’s top talent retained. The player drain to the NRL and Union if it continues can only weaken the competition. Whether it’s a marquee allowance or something else, I hope as a competition in future we are able to hold on to our talented youngsters like Chris Ashton, Joel Tomkins, Kyle Eastmond, Sam Tomkins, James Graham, Sam Burgess and George Burgess. In addition to this when was the last time Super League attracting a genuine world class player from either the NRL or Union? Again, that was the Doctor bringing Kevin Locke over but before that I’m struggling to think of any (infact I would probably have to go back to 2009 when Leeds signed Danny Buderus).
Yes Marwan Koukash is rich and such a ruling would benefit him and Salford, but it would also benefit Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Hull FC, Warrington etc. It might even force other clubs to think outside the box and obtain additional sponsors to cover such a ‘marquee’ signing.
As RL fans we like to moan that the sport isn’t growing, but then mock when people come up with ideas. I’d much rather the SL chairmen get around the table, start with the marquee allowance as a starter and develop the idea into one that everyone agrees would benefit the sport and competition.'"
K0ckr@sh is only interested in one thing......................K0ckr@sh. Fame for himself. As RL Fans we don't want it going back to the 1980s or worse, turning into Soccer. We aren't as Big as the NRL and until there's 12-24 K0ckr@sh's running about in the British Game, the Salary Cap stays as it is. Smaller clubs won't be able to survive, only big clubs and small clubs with Rich Owners.

| I don’t buy that. Why wont smaller clubs survive? We’ve had franchising for the last however many years, that didn’t help smaller clubs like Salford and Wakefield from nearly going bankrupt, look at Bradford and London this year too. Whether there is a marquee allowance or not, badly run clubs will always face difficulty regardless. An increase of some description in salaries would attract bigger and better players to the competition, which in turn will generate more interest, which snowballs into bigger crowds, more sponsors, more revenue and so on.
Also, why would MK want fame for himself? He is already a multi-millionaire with a reported wealth of circa $900m. He was very well known in the racing circles before he bought Salford too. RL isn’t exactly the type of sport to propel you to fame either.

Can you imagine what debt he would leave Salford in if he went? Not only would he want his 'investment' back, but they would have to fund the players wages for the remaining contract time. You'd be able to hear that pop in space!

Why are people so obsessed with Koukash leaving and Salford failing? I remember people doing the same with Manchester City and Chelsea when they shook things up in the Premier League. Countless trophies and millions later, their 'foreign' owners are still there.

| Its worth noting that the marquee exemption has been pushed by Leeds and Gary Hetherington for years.
Its also worth noting that one of the first things Gary Hetherington and Paul Caddick did at Leeds was spend a world record transfer fee on young Mr Harris.

I think you have some massive "Believe the K0ckr@sh Hype" tinted glasses on. You think he will be your almighty Saviour but he won't.
And if you have to ask why smaller clubs couldn't compete or survive against clubs with more money than them, then I give up.
