| That bloke on the Mic was nothing more than a loud mouth and one who was clearly being auditioned whilst also being egged on by a super league club that was willing to pay for his outbursts of turrets on game day 
What has happened to the regular announcer as he was very good imo,he hasn't been enticed to Salford has he?  |

I thought he was over-keen but in a way where he assumed being keen would mean being good. He should have just been himself and it would've been better.

Haha! Back-handed compliment there! 'He's not bad, he's just not as good as what is normally there'.
The usual guy is presumably the #1 in the game as he does the Magic Weekend games, and was at one of the England games in the world cup last year and then did the final too.
I could do it, if the Wakey bloke is more permanent and the dissatisfaction continues. I'm sure my north-eastern accent would go down well with my fellow South Stand bretheren..!
The usual bloke is good, yes. I imagine part of this is due to the fact that it was different / a change and many people don't like change being made without warning. |

Didn't realise he did so much, so often, so far apart. Is funny that there are no other people in the world who can announce line ups and 'remind all supporters to refrain from foul and abusive chanting as Leeds Rhinos is a family-friendly club'.
I just (naively) assumed he was fairly local to Leeds and just did RL. The idea of him zooming around the country several times a week to do all of these announcements is quite funny if you think about it - thousands of people who can all speak, yet two London-based clubs and a Leeds-based club share one man between them, and have to do so with some international events too!
Who determines that one person's voice is more appropriate for a tannoy than another's? As long as you can talk properly and clearly.
That said, he is good, but then he is all i've known my whole RL-attending-life prior to last week. Oh, and when i went to Wakey last year, obviously it was not him then...

There is an element of 'what you know' and not liking change to it. But I also think he's great on the mic. Never over the top embarrassing like at some clubs but creates some atmosphere and does what he has to very professionally
