If those figures are correct it's a fairer deal for Super League from Sky than the last one given Skys viewing figures.

It could also, depending upon how the funds are distributed, mean upwards of £2 million per season for each super league club.

Has Dr K been on yet, insisting the salary cap should be raised/scrapped so clubs can spaff all this extra cash on mediocre players?

Good deal if the alleged figures are true. I'd be interested to see the real figures and what percentages/amounts are to be distributed to the clubs in SL1, SL2 and SL3 respectively.

I've recently ditched Sky HD, mainly because I'd been on a 12 month 75% off contract and getting everything for just over £25 a month. That deal expired so I ditched before I was about to be charged £67.50 a month.

Recently resubscribed to Premier Sports for the NRL at the barmy cost of just £12 for the next 6 months. And I've got BT Sport. That'll do me nicely.

How did you get the premier deal, when I rung up to cancel after the World Cup instead of taking the £9.99 I owed them they offered me 3 months extra for £11.97 so for £1.98 extra I get 3 months of recording all the past games they are showing that's filled up my sky box ! I was hoping when I call next month to cancel they might give me new offer ?

Like you, I cancelled after the RLWC. I also refused their 3 month reduced offer at £3.99 per month on the basis there's nothing I'll be watching on their channel during the off-season. They phoned up last week with an offer of 1st month free, followed by 3 months at £3.99 per month just in time for Auckland Nines, Championship, NRL, Origin. I cheekily said I wasn't really interested until Origin in May and their response was to offer 3 months free followed by 3 months at £3.99. I accepted that offer

I don't have Sky or Premier Sports. So all I care about is whether the numbers add up to a better deal for the sport.

I think its not a great deal, but a fear deal and could have been worse. I understand why people are saying we should have encouraged BT to become involved and do what Union has done and jumped into bed with BT. But I remind people of ITV Digital and Sentate Sports, they both went bust and the sports had to go crawling back to Sky, I believe the deal for the Football League when they went backed to sky was around a tenth of what ITV Dig where paying them and drove many clubs into deep debt. Not sure BT will even last in the business, they have paid silly money for the European Cup football. So as much as I don't like Sky and its owner I think its a fair deal
