That thread last season sought to bring light where there was previously only darkness.
My position will have only changed (if indeed it has) in light of the detail unearthed by the numerous 'freedom of information' requests.
I do recall though trying to persuade Craig into taking out a sponsorship (as the rules seemingly allowed him to do so) when it became apparent he was going to finish well inside the top 8. He declined to do so for the same reason you have given above and credit to you both for that. IIRC he was therefore unable to enter the play-offs and in that sense the interpretation of the 'rules' hasn't altered this season.

You're sadly not alone either. I havn't gone public for a while but as this appears a critical point in the season, I've got four wrong scores highlighted this week which includes yours and one other who will now contest in the play-offs.
The four are:
JMT (should be 7 not 5)
LFCPatriotRhino (7 not 6)
Pet Rhino (6 not 4)
rhinochris (8 not 6)
I'm sure I don't need to point out the difference between qualifying top 4 and instead being incorrectly placed 5 to 8.

Hopie/BRK, If there is a tie, if will work on aggregate scoring, for instance say your playing BRK for instance, and Leeds vs Hull FC.
Hopie - Leeds by 8
BRK - Leeds by 16
Leeds actually win by 10
Hopie will be on 1 point plus 2
BRK will be on 1 point plus 6

The rules haven't changed. The person with the most points wins each play-off match but given it's more than possible that both players will predict the same amount of games right and neither will get the margins exactly correct, how else would you suggest calculating a winner? |
