The lad puts in a poor game and the same over reactors will be shouting for him to be dropped.'"
All young players at Leeds will be world class - until they move on having not made the grade at which point their status will change to 'never rated him - he's rubbish'.

| Just remember Damo the success since '04 has been with Bailey as part of that squad. Every cup we have won he has played in those games. Why dismiss him so quickly over someone who has played 1 game for us?? And if your judging on academy games - how come Danny Allen isnt a superstar????
But over the next 5 years we will need to replace the backbone: Webb/McGuire/Burrow/Sinfield and more immediately Peacock + Senior. Interesting times ahead.

IMO that will be the major challenge for the club's management.
For Webb we have BJB & for Senior one of Watkins/Coady.
For Peacock one or more of Amor, Pitts, Burgess.

982.jpg [quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj]

| The club is aware of this. Has anyone read "the History Makers"? Got it for Xmas and whilst a little bit self congratulatory in tone it provides a fantastic insight into how the club is run, top to bottom.

You’ll be surprised that I’m a Ryan Bailey fan and defended him many a time on the virtual terrace. All I‘m doing is asking for peoples opinion. The might I mentioned is just the realm of possibility. Even I doubt Jay Pitts will over take him but someone out they must!

Yep, I did the decent thing at xmas and bought it for my dad and then proceeded to read it before he's had a chance to even pick it up.
As you say it is a bit self congratulatory but after 3 Grand Final wins in a row I can look past that, and is interesting in seeing how they're trying to generate an ethos at the club. Hetherington has to be praised for his player signings in recent years, since 99% of them seem to have fit perfectly into that strategy.

| Those that are calling Bailey a 4 time GF winner miss the point that there were 16 other players helped him reach that point. I would like to see Bailey become as crucial as Peacock and gain another international cap years after his last one. His position is up for grabs unlike many of the youth squad that he grew up with. Consistency is the name of the game for Ryan.

Yes it is.
Consistently selected for every trophy winning game we have won since '04.

Still doesn't command a starting place after 6yrs. No international caps since 04. The instigator of this debate has put forward the question as to whether his place in the squad is in question. With the level of competition that we now have as opposed to previous years the question is legitimate.
We'll see who's proved right.

Seems fair.

Really????
I command that your wrong. Also got a few caps for England after the caps he earnt in 04.
The question is legitimate. You haven't ruffled my sensibilties. Ryan Bailey - been de-valued and over looked for players who haven't even earnt more than 1 senior game for us, is frankly laughable against the multi title winner. Even if the thread is posed in 'theoretical question' medium - I would be be more selective about the questions I ask.

| I like bailey i think he has played a big part in our success over the last few years, its hard to believe hes only 26 which is still relatively young, i agree though he does need to become a little more consistent, id like to see him play like he did in the grand final on a more regular basis, but with the addition of pitts and amor that competition is not only good for the team, but its good for Ryan

Ask Luke Burgess, Jaimie Peacock & Matt Diskin if they see it as irrelevant and they'll give you a different answer.
