Can recommend the food in Browns on The Headrow - went a couple of weeks ago and while it ain't cheap, you get what you pay for. Very busy as well, even early on a Saturday evening.

I've heard thats the case as well.
I do know that you often get nothing if you won't pay for it, so I assume it works the other way too.
Some of the best food I've tasted has been cheap food BTW |

I'd agree with that to a point. You can get some to drawer curries at the cheapest establishments and the same goes for other cuisines too. I don't eat at posh places enough to know much about them but mid-range stuff can often be a dissapointment - all pre-cooked and reheated crap.
I'd also say cheap food is by far the best in terms of what you cook yourself. Especially with meat - though I'm thinking more of the cheaper cuts rather than the cheapest butchers. |
