Why should Gary undo 13 years of good work and send the club into the red just to please the ts in the Southstand?

The stand HAS to be re-built. There is no decision to be made. The work done so far is cosmetic and temporary. It is falling to bits.

I'd like the club to be reasonably ambitious and try to extend the capacity a little (say 3 or 4k). I think we should do more to try an increase our crowds, and it will help pay for the stand quicker.

I think now is a good time to re-develop the stand. Any works being done are like pouring money down the drain.

I'll offer you a scenario. Leed United get promoted, and god forbid look like going back to the Premiership. This coincides with a drop off in the Leeds Rhino's success on the field.

IIRC, last year the South Stand was given a safety certificate for two years. That would suggest to me that some form of work has to either commenced or be in the advanced stages of planning before the start of next season.

The cost of a new one is not the issue here. Work has to be done on the stand if it is to get another safety certificate.

As long as the debt is manageable (and with Caddick doing the work, I can't see why it wouldn't be), then I can't see the problem.

Hetherington hasn't done much wrong during his term at Leeds either on the field or development off it. Any decisions made will be in the best interests of the club.

I still think Headingley will have a new South Stand and North Stand before Odsal is re-developed or Cas get a new ground.

£10mil - payback period of 10-20years? Pretty good for a capital expense that is relatively high.

It all depends on what GH & Caddick see fit to be an ideal payback period.
