| Quote: Towns88 "Neither cas or hull lost on purpose you complete and utter moron. Our loss could in the end cost us a home semi, Hull now have zero chance of top 4 but as Radford said, he gambled bringing 4 back. Did wigan lose to Huddersfield on purpose last week ? Maybe focus on your own sides defeats to widnes, Catalan twice, failing to beat wakefield at home, failing to be Huddersfield twice, not to mention your own capitulations this season.'"
i know exactly why we have ended up were we area. still other clubs seem to have delighted in the fact we are where we are, and Hull performance yesterday was a complete joke if that inst bending over then what is. and Cas on Friday was not far of either.

| Quote: BrisbaneRhino "With our current squad 6th would be an achievement. That's been made patently obvious by the results since Sinfield took over - hammered by a top 4 wannabee team, struggled to a draw against a mid table team and then beat the cellar dwellers. The only players missing who are real quality over those games would be Ward and Watkins. They'd make us better, but not enough to close the gap on Cas.
Whilst I wouldn't want us to be in the Middle 8s, to think that with largely the same squad we'll contend for silverware is nuts IMO. Not to say BM did a lot to turn things round, but it would be very interesting to find out if he was banging on GH's door to seek cash for new players.'"
the consensus was it was the other way round, Gh wanted to strengthen and had players lined up, but MCD wanted to go with what we had and stick with payers well past his sell by date.

If Leeds were to make the CC Final you'd want better and stronger opposition in the build up to that. We all know what happened to Hull KR in 2015 don't we.......

I don't claim to be in the know, but if this was 'the consensus' then it's news to me.

Yeah right a coach turns the option to get some players in!

Both Cas and hull were beaten by better sides on the day pure and simple. Huddersfield have won 8/9 and we've been inconsistent due to chopping and changing our pivots every other week. We lost to Huddersfield by 14 and had 2 tries ruled out in the second half. We weren't not trying we just had an off night and Huddersfield were good. There is no hidden agenda. Plus if you're gunna look into detail it would benefit Cas for Leeds to finish top 8, for either a better home crowd / gate or a guaranteed 2 points for us.

Wouldn’t that make Toulouse away the week before the Challenge Cup Final? That would be far from ideal.

I would still take that draw seeing though I think our 2 hardest games will be Toronto and Hull KR so by the time we play them we should have done enough.
Don't think the CC final will be a worry for us after the 5th personally.

| Will finishing outside the top 8 cost us financially?
I was under the impression all Super League clubs received the same amount of central funding.
Over on the VT some seem to believe you get an extra £50k for every position in the league. That would mean we will get £400,000 £350,000 and £300,000 less than the other big 3 clubs in Saints, Wigan and Warrington. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

If true, that's madness. Outside of prize money (which should be awarded for finishing top/higher), central funding is surely more needed by the teams at the lower end to try and improve the league going forward. See NFL draft.

It wouldn't surprise me were we to win the semi. Logically, wire are in a better place than us but there still seems to be a bit of fragility there.

| I maybe wrong here but 8th gets nothing extra then its 25K not 50K extra on each place above so nothing for 8th, 25K for 7th 50K for 6th etc not sure about the finalists though.

You are mixing central funding and prize money - they are separate things.
CF is the same for all clubs (well, actually, not Wakey, who have a financial penalty for poor facilities), and prize money, which is based on league position.
