| The results of the scans show that the injury might not be as bad as initially thought.

Seems not actually, tho still awaiting scan result...
From Peter smith of yep on twitter...
Leeds Rhinos' Danny McGuire has had a scan on his ankle injury. No result yet, but indications are it's not as bad as 1st feared. #yeplive

Hicks version of events, skip to the 18:00 minute mark
General jist being having now seen footage of it he admits that their's 2 twists by Sneyd but at the time and with his positioning (obviously the footage is from a South Stand view point and he was the opposite side to that and Sneyd's roll is towards the South Stand) he only see's the first one and then see's McGuire kick out. Seems like McGuire's dissent/complaining earlier in the game has made Hicks feel he's lashing out and being a bit petulant and not because the ankle was still being twisted for a second time. Admits he could've taken more thought on McGuire being hurt and that binning him was wrong in hindsight of the footage. Still says Sneyd would be a binning but very close to being a red.
Fair enough I suppose. I did wonder how well he will have spotted it at normal time from his angle (and people in the crowd have the benefit of standing still, he's sprinting upfield on a broken field play). Also for saying his treatment of McGuire was harsh (but does go to show that getting in the refs ear consistently can cost you at times). Don't agree that he thinks Sneyd should still be a yellow after now knowing that their was a 2nd twist but maybe he wants to be a bit cautious with his words with the disciplinary still to decide on it.

| Quote: Fallon "If the rfl seriously want to stamp out the truly nasty stuff that happens very occasionally (thankfully) the punishment must, as a minimum last as long as the injury does.'"
If this sort of stuff only happens very occasionally there are reasons for that. The procedures are in place for dealing with events rationally. What if McGuire is only out for a week, a one week ban seems inappropriate?

I think he tried to IIRC, but he switched the ball too late.

| Only seen highlights the Houghton and Thompson tries were p!$$ poor defence imo but on the plus side some our ball movement for our tries was sublime and great to see Keinhorst playing well.
Onto the Sneyd incident for me if you are going to twist a players ankle and roll on it as he did the least you should expect is a kick in the teeth imo.
I also think it's worse than what Chase did there is a big difference between holding down and what that little sh## did so for me it should be 8/10 games irrespective of the injury Mags sustained.
Onto Hicks for me it's a cop out he indicates the reason for the pen as a twist that alone should be a red how can it be a YC when you get that for delaying a restart? also who was the TJ on that side was it Child?
The bigger picture for me is that the RFL need to get a grip of their officials and disciplinary procedures bot are holding the game back and effecting the outcome of matches far too much imo.

Agreed, if Sneyd got a 3 month ban, can you imagine the uproar on these boards if for example Liam Farrell did the same thing but only got a 2 match ban because he didn't actually strain the ligaments.

For the view from down under see this:
rugbyleagueweek.com.au/grubby-ta ... ken-ankle/
It's clear what their take on it is from the headline.
Hull fans take note.
Re McGuire's sinbinning, Hicks' comments reinforce my thoughts on it as posted yesterday i.e. McGuire's constant chelping got to Hicks.
He ( McGuire) needs to heed that.

| Sneyd charged with a grade D offence, so not seen as being as bad as the Chase incident.

| McGuire's kick out reaction was fair enough.
Abletts's immediate reaction as well tells the story of how he interpreted it.
Someone just needs to get it through to cod heads.
Sa talking about Fridays game as 'karma' no doubt brain dead Radford will be instilling that as a pump up to his players. but we know how that works out in his case.

In his post match interview he was asked about squad rotation,he said "we have 8 matches in 26 days (long pause) thats only an average 4 and a half days rest between matches" Good thinking lee,no flies on you, maybe if you get the sack you could be an accountant, priceless.

| Quote: Juan Cornetto "Sorry Tad but I beg to differ. Ablett took the ball and was always carrying it in his right hand. As he approached the line Shaul was converging so Ablett switched the ball to his left hand and fended off with his right. Shaul made an excellent job of turning Ablett as he was trying to fend off and he managed to pull him on top and stop him grounding. Good play from a promising fullback.
You can't expect to see straight if you keep drinking that Taddy beer.
I thought it was brilliant fullback play. He wrapped up the ball which so many fail to do. We've seen Zak do similar and issue high praise

| It was very good fullback play, but you'd expect Ablett to score. And I think Ablett himself expected to score so made the mistake of not going low enough/putting in a half-hearted fend which he still thought would be enough.

In which case sneyd goes up in front of the panel and if guilty gets a 3-5 match ban.
Extreme bans would only be for extreme cases of severe premeditated nastiness. It would stamp it out within a month, guaranteed.

looks like it was enough from the replays, and the in goal touch judge seems to have thought so too
