Well, yeah what do you say to that. His first performances even given his context, were that of a player who was way off the pace. To me this felt written all over it from the early stages. I was pretty shocked to read this. Given he's hardly had any time on the pitch in match conditions he must be absolutely miles off the pace in training to have decided so early he's not going to make the grade. I guess we should be applauding his honesty and taking this decision because he'd be perfectly entitled to continue sitting in the stands and not making the grade for the next 2 years of his contract and it would have made a bit of a mockery of the club's judgement.
