| Its funny, I onl;y had one eye on the game last night so couldnt comment on who was MoM, but when I saw Burrow had won it, my immediate reaction was - Stevo's favourite player.
I came on this board to ask if you thought he was deserved winner or whether it was indeed just the latest installment of Stevo's love affiar with the little guy.
No offence to Burrow (he can't help it), but Stevo just oozes for him constantly. Giving out MoM awards to less than deserving performance for your favourite player is just another example of how Stevo is an inadequte "expert" for TV.

| Quote: Juan Cornetto "Those blind alleys he kept running down led to scores from BJB and Foster and his accurate kick created JP's try. He was a constant threat, created space for others, made breaks, backed up and could easily have scored a couple himself. I know it was hot but did you forget to take off your aviators?
You thought Hardaker was "reasonable" yet his missed tackle let in Soward for one and his poor positional play was a factor in two other London tries. He also kept getting in the way of Sutcliffe.'"
The kick for JPs try was misdirected off the outside of his boot - Hall made a poor kick into a good opportunity for Peacock. I don't think he was abysmal nor do I think he was MOM which I think Sinfield should have been awarded.
Is McShane's inability to get to the PTB a lack of game awareness or a lack of fitness?

I thought he did too.
Mr Kirke was on the pitch. Wasn't a rancid peformance but still carried the same impact as a dandelion.

| Trouble is you need a 'personality' as a pundit, who is there?
Carney has to get the job after Stevo, just comes across as more professional. Is there anyone out there who is gregarious, articulate and intelligent? Burrow would be the leading metre maker behind Hohioha(sp) if they counted sideways running.

Or even an uncertainty in the instructions, since certain others keep jumping in there.

| Quote: G1 "Vehemently disagree. Regardless of Burrow, who has just carted off the fully deserved MOM despite a few errors, we need a proper hooker. Some classic dummy half play tonight from the lad brought back from Hunslet exile. Also, Sinfield controlled the ruck well.
Burrow at 7 gives us pace at half back, which nobody else does.'"
Opinions all, but I have absolutely no idea how you come to the conclusion that Burrow fully deserved MoM.
Thought Soward gave an object lesson in how to play half back. Run straight at the line, draw defenders then look to either go yourself or put someone else into a hole.
Burrow spent much of the night killing good ball by trundling laterally then dropping off a forward on the inside. He's an absolute nightmare for outside backs and second rowers as he constantly takes their space and drags defenders over rather than holding them.

Seriously?
We're taking a pass from first receiver as a key contribution to tries that happen on the other side of the field now?
That's about as big an agenda driven piece of bullhonkey as I've ever read. Both tries owed much, much more to the handling ability of Watkins than anything Burrow may have contributed very early in the move.

Ha. Two routine passes that subsequently went through respectively four and six pairs of hands before a try was scored, and a miskick off the side of the boot are evidence for how good a game Burrow had, yet it's others who have agendas. Surprised no credit was given for Rob's role in McShane's first try, where he handled the ball two tackles before the score.

Yes seriously!
For most of our recent successful run in SL Sinfield McGuire and Burrow have drawn defenders and made space at first receiver for tries out wide that otherwise would not have been made. So why now is this not an important contribution.
For the Foster try, Burrow was at acting half back and his DH run did not go down a "blind alley" but drew defenders and his pass created space for the movement to continue.
Burrows critics constantly harp on about his lateral running, but forget that this has always been a feature of his play. Of course excellent handling from Watkins etc was important but not more than the classy wing play of BJB. But my point is Burrows was being accused of "trundling" into blind alleys which is agenda driven nonsense. Yes he made a couple of handling errors but was involved more than any other player for Leeds and his overall contribution was very positive in what were difficult conditions.
His lateral running last night did draw defenders, find gaps and put men into space. Further more he made breaks and backed up at pace. He was up with play and available at DH when McShane was elsewhere. Have a look at the VIT

Come on! This was a well practiced move with the kick, not for the first time, from Burrow but usually from Sinfield.

Don't know but its a worry.

I see you are submitting your opinion as evidence. Please explain the "miskick off the side of the boot" theory?
I will give credit to McShane for his 2 tries.

I suggest you look at it again. No team practises a 6th tackle kick from the 20 yard line that's supposed to land 15 metres out with a world of work to do for a try to be scored. The kick was obviously supposed to land far closer to the goal-line but was a miskick plain and simple, well done to Hall and Peacock for making something of it.

| On Burrow’s lateral running, I do agree he often runs up blind alleys, but last night it seemed to be a set ploy that actually worked a couple of times with Sinfield picking up from dummy half, a quick run around with Peacock before shifting it wide to Burrow whose lateral running game him the option of putting a flat pass on for a forward, a quick duck and step back inside for himself or spreading wide to the three quarters. Burrow does often go up a blind alley, and does often slow a move down, but sometimes its part of a structure and the reason that play doesn’t come off isn’t down to him (we seemed a step of on all our moves and passes and dummy runs last night) That said i would have had him MoM

Was the pass that went 5 yards forward from Burrow in the first half a well practiced move too?
Seemed similar to the well practiced kick to Hall that one
