As was the defence on our left and allowing McShane to carve through us like Offiah that lead to the cross field kick and try

| Quote: ArthurClues "Out of interest, can you name the game when he last dropped a ball? I remember him getting us a few penalties against Hull where it was stripped in the tackle, but I think he has largely eradicated these errors from his game. Not so defensively of course. If he stays it won't be at a marquee wage so no point basing thinking on that. I think we're a bit guilty of taking the huge meterage he makes every game for granted. He might not be Jamie Lyon, but he's not the total mug he's made out to be.'"
No, I can't say I can remember.
But you can't possibly say that a 30 year old player, who we know has errors in his game, has suddenly eradicated them.
There is a reason that such an explosive player was released from the NRL in his mid 20's.
He comes with lots of faults.
We either accept that or we don't.
And obviously we all have different opinions on that.
That's why he is probably the biggest talking point on here.
Don't get me wrong, I like Hurrell.
But the problem is that he is marquee money and an OQ place.
I expect more for that.

I've never blamed him for a loss.
I'm just trying to find a reason to offer him another deal.
And I'm not sure he's worth it.
He is explosive at times, but I don't think that's what we need in the centres.
We need that up front.
King looks like it won't work out, so we need another prop.
We could release King and Hurrell and go big for Taupau/Taukeaiho.
Or release King, retain Hurrell and go for a cheaper british prop.
I'd prefer the first option tbh.'"
Id say the reason to give him a contract is if we can get him on a vast lower contract give him the number 15 shirt as a backup centre

I am hoping we can retain Hurrell, even for another year. The young lads will push through into first grade but I still think we need some size and punch in the back line.
With a proper half back working that side we should be right.

We don’t know what we’re spending in the cap or how low a contract Hurrell will take

Perhaps, but should we really be using our OQ spots on a back up centre?

If it benefits the squad as a whole yes, we shouldn’t be using it in a Prop (well two props) that hardly play, and i worded it badly maybe not a backup centre but a decent player who will push the others to fight for their place

On the errors in possession, I don't know about you, but I go to just about every game and I've seen a massive improvement in that regard since the back of 2020 and I think that should be recognized. I'm very conflicted on the should he say, should he go debate, but I will say that anybody who thinks Sutty is going to be improvement at right centre is looking through strongly tinted blue and amber glasses.

| I now believe that Agar has gone as far as he can go. Last night we were a shambles from start to finish , with no improvement , other than when Sutty went off and Leaming to half back . By contrast , Cas had their assistant coach Shenton on the field for most of the game . For a team to have all those play the balls in the opposition 20 , and not attempt one grubber kick to get a repeat set is unforgiveable - that is down to a coach who is out of his depth - pure and simple.
The decision is do we want a winning team , or to continue watching these performances , and then an angry Agar at his press conference ? The answer to me , whilst it may not be pretty to begin with , is to offer the job now to Shaun Wayne - he will jump at it , and we will see a team giving its all EVERY week , and he will not put up with some of our error prone players.
Take your pick .
