I wasn't referring to you but, if you insist, what exactly are trying to say here, if you are not making excuses?

I dont think anyone is particularly condoning his actions, what he did was stupid, petulant, but done in the emotion of the moment. I'm a Rhino fan for gawds sake, sat at the end which was the subject of Tomkins's gesture, but I am not wishing to see a witchhunt against him for this. As I said earlier, he needs a word in his ear to tell him to calm down, and if the RFL wish to take action then so be it. None of this detracts from him being a talent, and if the other stuff can be curbed then hopefully that is what we will be talking about in future!
And all of this is detracting from what was afterall a lively well contested Cup Final!

My "brain dead poop" was in response to the barrage of brain dead threads belitling the acheivments of a superb Wigan side. I have praised Leeds on their outstanding performance in several threads and in my conversations in real life. In short, I treated the idiotic threads with the contempt that they deserve. Your deletions and public critisism has bolstered my point. Cheers.

| Quote: Ronzy "As I pointed out, it isn't hypocrytical because the actions of each party do not have the same ramifications, you do understand that don't you? Oh, and, in any event, you weren't trying to highlight any hypocracy you were simply trying to justify the actions of the subject of your affection.
What your fans throw at McGuire and Bailey goes way beyond "dislike" and you know it. Now, your lack of an issue with that situation is hypocritical.
I'd love to know the basis of your assumption that the people booing Tomkins were Leeds fans. I was at the Exiles game and the only people I saw booing were Hull fans, although I don't doubt there were some Leeds fans behaving in that manner. The point is that fans can act irresponsibly to some extent and it does little or no damage to anyone.'"
Now why would I justify something I don't agree with? Oops, not thought this one through have you Ronzy, far too quick to present the argument you had in mind all along regardless of what people are actually saying.
Anyway, I do happen to consider it hypocritical to condemn Sam Tomkins for flicking the Vs whilst trying to valorise the abuse he receives from fans. And the assertion that booing an England international or openly calling for harm to be done to him has no effect on the game's reputation or the young players and fans involved in it is, to be [ivery[/i kind, disingenuous.

Classy. Now run along, and don't forget to impress your mates at school by telling them you learned a new swear word and used it to a grown-up!

Posting "haha" thirty or forty times in one post and then repeating over five other posts on three threads may pass for intellectual commentary in Hicksville Lancashire but around these parts it qualifies as "Special", as in

the things we see week in week out you talk off , are they acceptable ?
lets be honest , most leeds fans at the game wouldnt even have seen the 2 fingers would they ??
yes he overstepped the mark i agree , but talk of bans from club and internationals is just stupid'"
Fairly sensible post. Let's not overreact here and demonise the kid. After all, he probably wasn't looting Manchester city centre like a lot of his contemporaries the other week.

I don't disagree with that. However, I do take issue with people trying to chuck paleatives around, there is no justification for acting like an idiot. For the sake of the game, I sincerely hope he grows up and matches his talent with some class.

So, what you are saying is that you listed a number issues concerning abuse, provocation and prejudice to reaffirm your crusade to wipe out hypocracy that isn't hypocracy? Of course you did darling.
Your consultation with the Oxford English in the drafting your long thought out response is duly noted, although the only person trying to talk up the abuse was you ("ascribe value" is the definition of the word you used and I didn't need a dictionary to tell you that - the wonders of classical education). Regretfully, as you have pointed out already, the benifits of that education stop at the knowledge but, I can learn manners, you'll struggle to improve your IQ.
Another thing, which do you think does the game more harm - a bunch of morons booing a player or the same player abusing a group of fans for their percieved part in that wrong on national TV? Now think very carefuilly now because, I feel that you may get there in the end.
I can tell you're having difficulty so, perhaps you would like to join me at school tomorrow? Oh, its the still the school holidays, so there'll be no bggery (inset the U where you see fit) for you this time.

If you think this is an over reaction I can only imagine your head would explode if Danny McGuire had offered the same gesture to the Wigan fans.

You realise, surely, that the internet is awash with people who like to see themselves as some sort of intellectual heavyweight and rely upon bluster and insults to detract from their failure to win an argument? It's just that you're acting like this is the first time anybody has come onto a forum with the "look at me I'm all clever and stuff" facade.

Aw bless, you're trying to insult me.

I see where you're going with this. The fans who abused Tomkins are vindicated by his having done something more harmful (in your opinion); thus if I agree that what Tomkins did was the most harmful of the two then any point I make or have made to the effect that fans who are worried about harm being done to the game should not merely be concerned with this particular harm and that being so might suggest their real motive was the further vilification of Sam Tomkins rather than the "good of the game" would somehow be moot. Is that it?

Ha, alluding to faux intellectualism, whilst making random and irrelevant references to Freud. Now, whilst we're having lessons that is irony.
No, I wasn't trying, I actually did insult you. Do try and keep up now.
In short .......................No..................He simply committed an act that was highly damaging to his own and the games reputation. Far more damaging than a bit of booing. Christ, Shaun Edwards and Andy Gregory got far worse than that at Headingley and I never saw them flip the Southstand the finger. More importantly, they knew it was the Leeds fans doing it because, they were playing Leeds at home. Tomkins has no idea who was booing him.
I note that you are now ignoring the fact that you tried to justify his actions, which why this little spat started. Consequently, I can't really be d any more. Tudaluh, kn0b jockey.
