I actually believe that he was handled well enough. He had a good pre-season (by all accounts) and looked ok early on. I think it takes a while to differentiate between out of form and just not good enough. He could maybe have been dropped a game or two earlier, but not many

Full credit to the lad, he came over and had a shot at securing a first team position . Unfortunately he was not good enough, at least he had the guts to have a go.

joe didn't cost the club a great deal when he came over on trial or when he signed his 1 year contract at the club,he said he was just happy to be given the chance to earn a full time contract in the first team squad for 2014,failing that he said that he could not afford to re-sign for the club on the terms that he had accepted after his trial period was turned into a 1 year deal

good on him for trying his look over here,ok it didn't work out how he would have wished,but he played in a wcc against melbourne and has also visited plenty of europe whilst he was over here.....is carlesberg did backpackers tours to england then his would be the perfect one

Fair enough gamble from the club. Kudos to Vickery for having a go. Looked decent enough in pre season and solid at times during the year. His confidence was shattered after the Hudds game and I think everyone knew the writing was on the wall then. In the end, it hasn't done much harm to anyone.

That Huddersfield game was exactly the one where I had a look at all the tries he supposedly let in and discovered - sadly NOT to my amazement - that he was at fault for one, but Watkins and others were more responsible for more. Yup. The team defended narrow because they couldn't control Huddersfield's forwards otherwise. Meant there was a ton of space in behind and outside the wingers, which Brough exploited brilliantly
