I've no problem with saying that he did, same as thousands of other players in sports up and down the country at various levels last weekend will have done.
So remind me again why you chose to make an issue out of this one particular incident and accuse him of "a lack of class", but not others?

Yes he did
Chris Clarkson was pulled for offside in the first half (cheating trying to gain a few yards) what would be adequate punishment for him? compound fracture? malaria? conjunctivitis?

| At the end of the day, it is "cheating". Much in the same way that any other form of deviance is "cheating". There, I said it. Happy now? It certainly doesn't change the way I feel about McGuire or what he did. I fully support the decision he made and the result of the match demonstrated that he did the right thing.
The reality however is that whilst we have rewards for those who succeed, you will always have various forms deviance. That's not just in sport, that happens in all walks of professional and social life. We've all cheated at some point - even you.
Quite why so many posters are so insistent on branding McGuire a "cheat" is a mystery. If you want to go through the tape, I'm sure you could find ways in which all 34 players on that field had "cheated" at some point. I'm pretty sure Starbug hasn't been on the Wigan stamping his feet in a tantrum and demanding that posters use the word "cheat" towards Wigan players.

| I have read the comments on this topic with interest and thought and I would just like to say that I think the bad feeling is not to do so much with Danny Mcguire doing what the vast majority of professional sportsmen would have done these days. It is more to do with the ludicrous and damaging accusations by Brian McLennon (mouth in gear, brain to follow). He certainly needs to offer a sincere apology, particularly to tommy leuluai.
Incidentally I think the big losers out of this apart from Danny Mcguire himself, are England who can no longer draw on the talent of one of the countries best half backs

Which players haven't shown a lack of class by that definition?

I would agree with that, although it would also be nice to see the incident fully unfold via Sky's excellent HD coverage first.
I presume the RFL have asked for the footage and found nothing overtly untoward after the injury to McGuire.

| Agreed, complete transparency for both sides. If in the highly unlikely event it turns out that a player has malisciously attempted to inflict a potential career ending injury on a fellow professional off the ball, then a " Never play again " sentence is the only punishment. These players clearly have a lot more respect for one another than rival fans do!!!

Eh? Did they bother to watch the footage...
McClennan said on Sky I think it was Leuluai but it wasn't it was Riddle.
I'm suprised the RFL didn't just take the Eddie Hemmings explination of it's Sam Tompkins (in two places at once) "expressing his concern"

Just about sums BM up, saying DM was fouled off the ball then deciding to implicate Leuluai without having a clue what he was talking about.
He can be a right bozo sometimes.

To be honest I wasn't sure what Thomas Leuluai had to do with it either as from the footage it was clearly Riddell who had 'bust a gut' to get across and assist McGuire.
It looks like the RFL have gone off McClennan's words and unsurprisingly therefore being able to find Leuluai not guilty of anything worse than a bit of sledging while for all we know Riddell was performing the finale to Riverdance on McGuire's prone body.
Never lose faith in the game's custodians.

No I won't. We've had an unusually high petcentage of SERIOUS injuries this season.. I've not recalled so many in one season for many a year especially so badly timed and to our best players.
P.S You are a tool.

Bad mental image. It'd take weeks to clean up the mess

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Looked bad at the time (I had my fair share of knee injuries!). looked like a big hyper extension. Big shame as he was playing well. Big loss for GB aswell I feel as I'd have him as a SO and Tompkins at FB I think. Can't believe some of the Wigan "fan's" (not the proper word in this case..) comments.
Im not a big lover of Maguire, being a Hull fan.... but don't know where they get this accusation of cheating from? I think the comments just showed their fear of him really. great form at the end of this season, hope he gets well soon.
